I know this was posted in a couple of threads, but I thought it deserved a thread of its own, since this is the all important QB position.

Jefferson climbed from 19th all the way to 10th in the nation in the pro-style QB position. FYI, DC Jefferson is currently ranked 15th.

Still shows Jordan as 13th in the state listing, I assume he will be bumped into the top 5 in that list as well.

I still think Prater will be upgraded in the end. Dude runs a 4.5 but has a burst/quickness that's even more impressive than that. Extremely impressive for someone playing the LB position.

Looks like LSU should finish in the top 10 regardless, since we will be signing as many as 7 more players. If we land a couple of surprises, LSU could finish in the top 6 or 7. Not bad at all for what some consider a "down" year for LSU football recruiting (debatable, at the very least).

When will we officially get Benton added to our committment list?

He's a 5 star on prep players list and this will be huge.

This class will just add to our depth. 2008 will be the year we get to finally see all these great Miles classes on the football field. I am most excited about #92 Drake Nevis. The guy is a monster on the line (ala Dorsey...?)

Islstl... Do we have a chance at landing DeAndre Brown? 6-6 220 4.4 Forty.

I thought it was us and Ole Miss for Brown. So I assume that means its just us.

Cparso can answer this, but I don't think we have much of a chance at Brown, especially now that we got Tolliver. We already have 5 receivers in this years list, and I would think we would want to fill other positions, as well as Brown not wanting to go to a school where 5 receivers have already been recruited.

Wait for Cparso to chime in on this one.

I have watched a few tapes of this kid and talk to someone who went to the State Championship game. He is really good. I dont feel bad about losing those other two QB recruits.

If we could get a good RB and either Bryant or Johnson, I think we will move up in the top 5.

Brown is very likely Ole Miss. It has nothing to do with him not liking LSU or LSU not wanting him.

Brown can still be swayed, He hasn't offically visited LSU. And Patrick Johnson, is still within Reach. If D Scott visits LSU, he could also be swayed. I think the NC game will go along way, in recruiting. Success at WR and on Defense will peak the intrest of the big recruits. As will the play of our true freshman...ie C Jones and company.

If Miami is able to get Johnson and Patchan, those two with Arthur Brown, Forston and Johnson, that is just an incredible job of recruiting by Shannon. I have a feeling Miami will be back with the college FB elite pretty soon.

I'm happy with a top 8 ranking, which is what I expect. Next year will be a great year for us recruiting, and this year won't be too shabby either.
