Awesome BUT, is he worth a whole $35.00 in the fantasy pick? JJ?

    I think maybe so...

Sat in front of JJ's high school coach at the UF game last year at the Swamp, he told us that JJ was the best athlete he had ever coached. I had been wondering if he would soon deliver on such high praise, and watching him play in the Arky game, when most of the incompletions were drops and we lost in the last seconds despite Jefferson's best efforts, I began to see what his coach had been talking about.

Really excited to see what he can do with a spring as the starter under his belt!

Even in a losing effort, it was very easy to see the kind of player that JJ can be. I honestly felt comfortable with him lining up under center, and for a true freshman, that means a whole helluva lot. He's a football player, and no amount of measurables can make up for that (but he has those, too!). I think he is really going to be special.

I have always supported J. Lee, but I have to agree that in the bowl game JJ looked like a much older QB than he is. I've watched that game more times than I'd like to admit - there's a lot there I don't really like. But overall, he was amazing for a freshman. Very, very composed.

Now, he's bigger and more confident. Add the talent we're recruiting last year, this year and next year....goose bumps!

His next big hurdle will be surviving a really bad outing and the bad press/fan reaction that will follow. If he can shake that off, he may become one of the best LSU has had by the time he's done.

I hope J. Lee stays and battles hard. It'll be good for JJ, it'll be great for the team. And (knocking furiously on wood) you never know what will happen, especially to a QB who has decent wheels and has had some success running in the past.
