I'll also say that since Vince Young and Rivers, I've stopped putting a ton of weight on fundamentals - if you get results. When they get to camp and the coaches work with them, I'm sure they'll clean it up a bit but maybe they won't re-work it totally. Either way, they are both easily top D1 prospects (especially in Crowton's offense) in a year with not a whole lot who are interested in LSU.
I have seen Jordan Jefferson play and he is awesome...he reminds alot of Ryan Perrilloux....He can move, run and throw....he is very good. My daughter goes to Hahnville and he goes to Destrehan and they barely beat us, but no one could take this guy down....he just kept scrambling and getting away and he can throw.... I think all of you will be pleased... He can also wind up like Laron Landry who was a QB for hahnville and became the #1 safety in the nation....
I'd agree that he's got better mobility than Flynn, but probably not the kind of open field moves that RP has & not as fast as either.
Perhaps, but Mackey just doesn't appear to be the type of QB that Miles covets. Mackey is but 5'11". Sure, he may grow, but it's obvious Miles wants the 6'2" or greater.
Destrehan is the number 1 seed in the 5A Playoffs so that does say something about him though that he is a winner. I remember when he was backing Jai Eugene up at QB he must have improved alot. I know nothing is guaranteed but I hope this doesnt hurt us with the big name QBs next year.
When we played him, the team tried three times to get him down and he kept going...he has a lot of speed and mobility and he is so tall....he looked a giant amoung all of the other players when we played him......he is very, very good and I am glad that he is going to be a tiger....
IMO, "big name" recruits, reguardless of position, don't really care about depth charts because if they're hyped up enough, and truely believe in their abilities, then they don't care....unless of course your name happens to be Matt Lane. Also, 4 and 5-star recruits aren't scared away by lower-ranked players....it's usually the solid 3-star guy that gets turned off by multiple players ranked higher than him at his position that usually decide to look elsewhere.
Noticed on scout.com they have Deron Thomas the 11th ranked QB and a Four Star while having D.C. Jefferson the 18th and Jordan Jefferson the 45th QB. Just wondering why would we moved the 11th ranked to another position?
We might not have that problem to worry about as Thomas is reportedly still committed but that he may visit Florida.... From the beginning, I've been very impressed with Thomas' play as a QB and liked his commitment from the time he let it be known. Now, it looks like we might be out of a 3-QB signing class and down to a 2-QB signing class AND have the higher-ranked QB the one to leave...
