J.Jefferson is not as good as Mackey. Dont see the reason to just give out a scholarship especially with all the QB talent coming out next year like Russel Shephard,Jacob Karam(sp?) Brodererick Thomas, and the guy from St. Paul's Alabama who we all have good shots at. Maybe Les doesnt think DC Jefferson will qualify and this is the reason why the J.J got an offer?

Im thinking that DC wont qualify. I also think that Les wants more than 2 schollarship QBs on the roster. I dont see any other reason to sign a QB this year with all the talent next year.

agree with all that. To me it just looks like they feel they just have to sign a QB or two in this class. I can't see why not wait untill next year when there are much better QB's out there that we have a real shot at getting. If we are just signing QB's for depth then why not go for a dynamic player like Mackey. Not that he would ever be the starter, due to his size?, but it would be nice to have a backup that can come in and make things happen. I cant see either Jefferson ever being the starter for us or being QB's capable of taking the team to a NC. If we are going to sign a 3 star QB then why not Mackey?

BTW, I have never seen any of these guys play, other than Mackey, I'm not recruiting expert, so please disregard everything i wrote above and go with CLM opinion over mine. Jefferson will probably go down as one of the all time great LSU QB's before all is said and done.

I like the pickup. I think we need to build some depth, and dont worry we will gt a big one next year.

those of you bashing this signing are the same clowns who are posting threads every day about whether Miles realizes he is signing nearly all 3-star players.

LSU needs QB depth, so Andrew Hatch can be kept far away from the field, where he belongs.

I'd rather have too many QBs and have 1 transfer than to have too few QBs and have to lose a game or two if the starter were to go down.
