I can see why some of the fans were booing JJ. This whole thing with the bar fight could have been disastrous for our team. But Jarred Lee stepped up & everything turned out fine. I think JJ should have issued a public apology to the entire LSU community after being reinstated. This might have gone a long way with some of the fans. Putting myself in his parent’s shoes that would have been the first thing my son would have done. I know deep down he is remorseful for what he done, I’m sure he spent countless hrs thinking that he would never take another snap at LSU. Me personally I don’t need an apology, just go out & perform. We need turn our attention to Florida and move on. Let’s Go !!!!!!!
You're assuming he is guilty as charged. Many players who were there say otherwise. I've uttered my frustrations with the offense in the past few years but in no way shape or form should JJ have been booed when he walked on the field. He is an LSU Tiger. Those who booed owe Jefferson an apology. Yesterday's booing is becoming a national embarrassment.
While I might disagree with playing Jefferson at this point, he should have never been booed. I get the "intent" of the boos might have been not letting Lee finish the drive, but it was still unnecessary. The guy went through the legal process and hasn't been found guilty. Cut him a break.
... or maybe having your starting quarterback (among many others) involved in a bar fight. Though not convicted (yet), that, in itself, is pretty embarrassing. The better story is the class Lee showed in the ordeal, including on the field support before and after the play. I don't recall JJ ever showing that level of support to JL. While i don't agree with Miles' decision to play him there (or even at all), i fully understand the boos. For the money people pay, they can boo him (or Miles) whenever they want to.
Then just boo the whole team when they take the field next Sat night - you've paid your 30 pieces of silver.
I disagree with some of you mainly my reasons are team related, nothing to do with JJ in a way. I don't think people should have booed JJ, Kids at that age think they are invulnerable and do stupid things. I think CLM's should have played him because as we saw with Brantly, JJ is one play away from being the starter. I think JL got hurt a few years ago and JJ had to go in also? I think the coaches have done a great job with everything so far....
