Good grief, Fish! WHAT is your freak'n problem? JJ your cousin or something??? You gonna bust my chops on every post in this thread asking for the same "where'd you hear that from"?

And "stereotype much"?? Surely you're trying to say that just because I'm calling him a dual threat simply because he's black. Well, fish have a memory span of 3 seconds. I guess you named yourself accordingly. So how's that for stereotyping?

I don't give a rats butt if you've never had a conversation where anyone claimed him to be a dual-threat QB. I have. IMO if you're a 6'5" QB that runs the 40 in a 4.6, then YEAH, that means you ought to be able to be a threat to pull the ball down and run with it.

I've read posts (and up yours if you think I'm gonna go out and quote every post, article, etc.) that had people in fits because he looks lost running the option at times last year, etc.

Matt Flynn was labled as a "pocket passer" by recruiting sites that could run effectively and was a threat TO run; hence, DUAL THREAT.

I don't care what a recruiting site labled Flynn as. When he was here, he was a threat to throw the ball downfield AND hurt you running with it. Oh no!!! Rivals has Shepard as a QB...but we have him as a WR!! OH NO!!!!!!

That's good. You chose two different threads to bash him in. One in which you totally misconstrued what I posted and turned it into a diminish JJ event. So yep, I'm gonna pick your stuff apart too. You seem to be able to handle it.

I agree with you on JJ. I am expecting improvement, especially after the Manning Passing Academy. I do agree that he is a pro-style passer (w/ athleticism).

There's no reason to think otherwise IMO. It's just the natural progression of a young QB. By the time he leaves LSU, he'll be in the top 5 statistically of all major POSITIVE QB categories, IMO. He's already top 10 after one year of starting.

JJ is a pass first QB who can run which one might define as a scrambling QB due to the fact that he has the ability to scramble. you can go either way on this depending on where u draw the line as a scarmbler or pocket passer..... i for one though think that you abandon all rights to be called a scrambler after you have failed tom "Scramble" your way out of more than 30 sacks, JJ took 38 if im correct

Bingo, this is my position on JJ also. When it comes to last season JJ has taken a great deal of blame that should have gone to the OL. I'm looking for very noticeable improvement from JJ and a very good year due to what looks like an improved OL.

I rewatched the Auburn game last night (because I am jonesing HARD). At the time I didn't really think JJ played all that well. But overall - that game is a great example of his potential. First of all - Auburn's defense wasn't exactly awesome (68th overall, and 57th against the pass, 11th and 10th respectively in the SEC), so JJ had some time to throw. But JJ made some really nice throws, some quick throws, stayed in the pocket a couple of times and connected, etc. He also made some mistakes, but that's gonna happen. With more experience, some coaching that he probably didn't get last season, and a better O-line - I think both JJ and JL will be much improved and I'm really excited to see him connect with TT, who also had a great game against Auburn. And Shep showed a little of his future in that game as well.

    182/296 for 2,166 yards, 61.5%, 7.3 ypa, 58 longest, 17 TDs, 7 ints, 34 sacks, 137.18 rating

LSU was tied with South Carolina in the SEC for most sacks against at 37, next highest team above them was Florida with 30 sacks. Best pass protection was Georgia who only allowed 12 sacks (and they have a lot of that line back.)
