Jefferson's a very talented player, just not temperamentally suited or mentally agile enough to play quarterback in the NFL. I hope some enlightened manager will see a special teams player or tight end in him and give him a shot.
I'm sure I'm in the minority here but I think he has a better shot at being successful than Jarrett Lee.
Neither are NFL quarterbacks, but I could see Lee playing in Canada. I don't see Jefferson at QB at this level.
Any position but I was actually speaking about QB. Lee's problems will be magnified ten fold in the NFL. Throwing off of his back foot with no one around him and getting happy feet the moment a d-lineman looks like he may have an advantage over his blocker. At least Jefferson has an ability to run that he can fall back on. Don't get me wrong, I don't think either has a very good shot but watching Jarrett Lee have the same problems for 4 years and never seem to correct them was maddening. I hope they both prove me wrong. I'm rooting for them to be successful.
Lee has some mechanics though. Jefferson has worse mechanics than Tebow did coming out of college, and yes he can run, but that's the thing, he can only run when it's a called run. As far as being able to extend a play, Jefferson is terrible at that.
I do, mobile quarterback, that isn't a very good passer. Only difference is that Shaun King had better mechanics.
Shaun King threw for 38 TDs and 11 INTs his final year at Tulane with 3,500 yds. He was drafted in the 2nd round and had a pretty good start to his NFL career. He never really got another chance as a starter after having a bad game on MNF against the Steelers. I also do not see any similarities with Jordan Jefferson. I'm hoping JJ does well and finds a role (whatever it is) in the NFL. The coaches at LSU and JJ's teammates always spoke highly of him so that's enough for me. Also hoping J Lee can surprise his doubters as well.
