ATLANTA (AP) -- Jon Tenuta is less than one week into his role as the interim head coach at Georgia Tech, but he says he has to remain open to other opportunities. Even as ESPN was reporting that LSU coach Les Miles would become Michigan's coach and hire Tenuta as defensive coordinator, Tenuta was conducting a practice Saturday as Georgia Tech awaits a bowl bid Sunday. Miles held a press conference before Saturday's SEC championship game against Tennessee to angrily deny the ESPN report and insist he is staying at LSU. There are reports LSU defensive coordinator Bo Pelini could be named Nebraska's head coach on Monday. If Pelini is hired by Nebraska, Miles could have interest in hiring Tenuta as LSU's defensive coordinator. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/20...tenuta.gatech.ap/index.html?section=si_latest
How about Muschamp? Tubby wants more money for his asst. coaches, so maybe we can lure him away. Bring him back home.
There are a lot of rumors about a possible return of Muschamp, but as of right now that's all they are...
My wife told me she heard something about Ed Orgeron as DC on WAFB. I did not see this. Any possibility of this? Orgeron is supposed to be a great recruiter and defensive mind.
Why would Muschamp come to LSU? Isn't he an Auburn grad? A lateral move to LSU when you're coaching your alma mater just doesn't seem a likely scenario. As for Orgeron: Please, no. He does not have a great defensive mind. He coached the D-Line, but his talents lie in motivating players. I bet he heads back to SoCal.
I'm guessing they'll be a lot of speculation and names tossed about over the next few days. Guess we'll know soon...they can't wait too long.
