Maybe the "Nagging" is because LSU hasn't gotten a chance to fire the football coach in the standard 4 year period. LSU no longer has a football program, we have a revolving door of coaches. And it's been like that now for 30 years. Some leave as soon as the get a chance, Arnsparger & Saban. And if Michigan or someone else offers, Miles is gone. The Baton Rouge Advocate posting not 1 but 2 AP stories about Alabama football. One on Phelon Jones, who coudn't hold Peterson's jock strap & the other on Bama's Saban statue. Good to see that in the Baton paper keeping up on Bama football, because they have no clue as to what's going on in Baton Rouge. Jimmy Ott spewing trash daily about Miles. Glenn Guilabeau writing trash about Miles. Yeah, those big name coaches just can't wait to come to LSU to play in Saban's shadow & get treated like dog crap like Miles. Who knows? Maybe we'll find a big name coach that wants to retire in 4 years.
I don't care who is coaching, Just please play LSU football, give em hell every week. Look good on the field & be well respected & feared!!
These are all good points. A poster on here remarked during the infamous Miles to Michigan week from hell before the '07 SECCG, "I'm tired of LSU being the girl that everyone sleeps with but won't marry."
Do the majority of you not think Miles is on the hot seat this year? You saw the Ole Miss debacle last year. You saw the offense finish almost dead last in the nation. You saw Joe Alleva's letter kissing the a$$es of the disgruntled base at season's end. And you've seen that over the last two seasons LSU is 1-7 vs. the Big 4: Florida, Bama, Ole Miss, and Arky. So what does Miles need to do to keep his job? I'd say he needs 10 wins and to go 3-1 vs. the Big 4, with at least one win being an upset of the Gators or Bama. What do y'all think? :miles:
Perple, I tried to give you rep for your post above about Ott and Gilbeau and afterward, a dialogue box popped up saying "Thanks for deducting points from this poster". That wasn't my intent. Sorry, my bad...I guess you and your party get free coffee at the cafe. :hihi:. The Pm I tried to send didn't go through either so my computer may need rebooting..
Id agree Miles has to show improvement this year with the team. People can say what they want but the proof is in the pudding, losing to the top teams and barely beating the crappy ones with the talent here dont cut it. I know there are ups and downs week to week, year to year. I can accept that. I just cant accept a team that doesnt really show improvements. A team that has imploded at the end of each season. Thats what scares me more than anything is the lack of improvements and focus. Add that to the time management we seen in the Ole Miss and PSU games. I really hope Miles rights the ship, outside of the JJ thing in the Ole Miss game I really like the guy. Plus if he is fired that means LSU had a sub par season. I do think we will a much better team this year. Will they hold focus all year? Add to that a much tougher schedule.
