I got the OK to post this, so mods please don't delete. Just wanted to help spread the word about this. There is now a Baton Rouge Tea Party group that has formed to allow people to organize and speak out about this runaway government and spending. BatonRougeTeaParty.net is up. They are organizing a huge rally to be held on the steps of the state capitol to raise awareness that government is out of control and must be reigned in by the people. For far too long Republicans and others who believe in limited government have watched, while the left-wing have rallied, protested and fought for control. Well now they have it and they have wasted no time at all in imposing their socialist style big-government spending and big-government agendas. If you're like me you've probably never attended a protest or political rally in your life. Most us us have jobs and lives The point is we can no longer sit back. It's time to fight back. We have to do more than just vote and write the occasional letter. The rally is scheduled for April 15th. Click here to read more about it and join the fight.
Wake up, Andoille. Republicans expanded government vastly when they were in control and they were involved with the bailouts first. It is obvious to anyone looking at this, that government expansion is a bi-partisan problem and it has been around for a century.
Absolutely. The "Republicans" of recent memory aren't Republicans at all. We've allowed these a-holes to take control of the party and now it no longer represents what it has historically represented. As bad as Republicans have been since Bush was elected, it pales in comparison to the radical spending and government control the far left is now attempting. The type of government that people warned America was coming if they elected Obama and Co.
No, just as today's GOP is not the Republican Party of Ronald Reagan, todays Democrats are not the party of Teddy Kennedy anymore, either. It's not a far-left party, it moved towards the center under Clinton and has not moved back to the far-left under Obama. That's why the last two elections were won by the democrats, they are closer to the center than the republicans. Both sides need to reconsider using old stereotypes of the other party in the face of the new players and new directions that both sides are moving onto the political scene. The progressives are leading the Democrats now, rather than the liberals. Likewise, the social conservatives are leading the republicans, rather than the fiscal conservatives. Radical socialists and radical fascists at both extremes are largely marginalized, thank goodness. Plus there is much discord in both parties. There couldn't be a better time for a truly moderate third party to emerge. A lot of center-leaning fiscal conservatives and progressive democrats would join the many independent centrists.
To the contrary, the Republicans of recent memory were 100% Republicans. That is what the R by their name means. What this crop of GOP lawmakers have not been is conservatives. There is a marked distinction. I agree partially about the Democrats. The party is controlled by the far left, but most of the newly elected/recently elected demos are blue dogs. They still allow the liberal party leadership to push them around too much.

Really, Tea? So nowadays your idea of political protest is to waste government janitorial and security time (not to mention perfectly good tea) in a "me too" copy of other protests. Would it kill anyone to have a original idea that wasnt so lame? P.S. A pox on your house if that tea is Luzianne.
