That's a good question. Livingston was out and now back in, as a potential assistant candidate. Jones is currently feverishly trying to lock down his staff. When UNT announced today that the assistant from Buzz Williams' staff got the head coaching job, that probably locked down Jones' UNT assistants Shawn Forrest and Charlie Leonard. Now, rumor is that Jones will meet more with Randy and also has his sights on Mike Sanders, a former DeRidder hoops player with ties back to Jones. Sanders is a NBA journeyman who is in player development for the Utah Jazz. We are experiencing something we have not had in a while at LSU, basketball buzz! I will say Johnny Jones was the last person on the list that I wanted LSU to hire but two short weeks he has made some power moves and has completely changed my mind. The hire of Robert Kirby has made an immediate impact. This is not a diss on Trent Johnson post, I think Johnson gave it his all, but his recruiting style that worked for Standford did not work at LSU. I do think CTJ had APR working against him and during his stay he made the APR better...But back to the current staff... Shawn Forrest is well connected to the DFW area and makes statements like "Off to another city to see more players. Gotta get LSU back to one of the most storied programs in college basketball ##GeauxTigers" and "So much talent in the state of LA. Gotta keep them at home!!!" I'm on board CJJ! Lets bring LSU basketball back!
