He's had a good run at North Texas, and I doubt he looks at LSU as the stepping stone to the job he really wants. Certainly he knows the LA high school basketball climate. Not a high profile hire, but I think this has the potential to work out very well.
That pretty much sums it up for me. I hope he is a better recruiter and coach than I feel he is. I'm pulling for him and hope he turns the program around.
Not sure what to make of this. I think it may work out. In the end, the main thing that matters is the longevity of putting butts in the seats. If he does that he'll be successful.
Recruiting is his strong suit, I hear, like Dale Brown. Hopefully his coaching skills will be better than Brown.
I think he's as good as we can get. It looks like the others weren't that interested or were using us as a bargaining chip with their own ADs. LSU is not a glamaour job folks....face it.
