How can it be a slap in the face to Damon? His agent wouldn't negotiate. The Yankees wanted to keep him but Boras screwed it up for everybody. And the money thing? Yanks don't mind spending but they have their limits and the whole team thing to consider.
I have never seen the Yankees pinch dollars. It was a slap in the face because Johnny's post season play was huge in them winning the world series. Plus i hate the Yankees and everything they do.
