    McKay, yes.
    100.
He hasn't coached but it is wrong to say he has been away from the game. He's been going to just about every game, home and away for a very long time. He's a board member for the Lott IMPACT Trophy which means he's around and in the middle of the best college talent every year.

As I said, he's been Chair of the Heritage Initiative for 7 years. Funds raised for the Heritage Initiative have supported capital projects, annual scholarships for student-athletes, academic support and programming costs, endowments, and recruitment and retention of coaches and staff. He knows how to raise money because he's appealing to both player and donor.

His ties to the SoCal high school recruiting area are as strong as you can get. And his coaching tree/ties to the NFL are legendary. There isn't an aspect of his career that can't help a football program. What is the problem having a highly experienced sage as a special consultant? It's a great strategy to hire coaches in non-coaching positions.

If he's still mentally sharp, I don't have a problem with it. In addition, if O's happy, I'm happy.

Another boudin buddy. I like it, though. It isn’t really costing us anything and old folks have value.

He's guided one of the greatest college football programs in existence multiple times to a championship. Also, in the second largest media market in the country. He's probably dealt with every landmine imaginable and then some. So that alone is a huge asset in terms of how to handle business. Being a head coach isn't all just tactics. I'm thrilled with the hire and shocked he wasn't with USC and became available.

Don't forget he also led the Rams within a game of the Super Bowl twice, losing to the ultimate champion both times in L.A.

Old guys like E (60) and I dare say Nick Saban (67) are too old to have any value to some on this forum. It's normally just the opposite. He will be great for helping us recruit the West coast at the very least. Bobby Bowden was 70 when won the NC in 1999 was 75 in 2004 and # 5 in the nation. Guess he still had value.

Those 17 year olds are more aware of the value that age brings with it than you appear to be. Nick is 67 and a living legend and Bowden also a legend was kicking ass throughout the late 80's and 90's while in his late 60's and into his 70's. E is 60 which is young compared to those 2. Bear Bryant the most legendary coach ever was still winning NC's in his late 60's.

I always liked and respected John Robinson. He is a class act and I would take his experience as a consultant 7 days a week and twice on sunday.

He is a legend in college football.
