I take it you meant "non competitive systems"... and your point is pure nonsense, as proven by the LONG histories of such systems in all other advanced countries in this world.

The USA lags far behind those socialist countries in both costs and health results. Those other countries achieve efficiency by the very thing you railed against: apportioning services and eliminating profits, while also having to answer to constituents for results.

You can't make this shit up.... upon his failure Mitch McConnell has the nerve to blame Democrats:

"Our friends on the other side decided early on they didn't want to engage with us in a serious way, a serious way to help those suffering under Obamacare."

All along the Democrats were asking to work together to fix any problems with Obamacare, but McConnell insisted upon "repeal and replace" as some sort of Republican badge of honor. Just couldn't bear the notion that something the public appreciates would forever be associated with a Democratic (and black) President.

Instead he took his gang of 13 into secret meetings and locked out Democrats completely.... deliberated everything on their own.... and then ran this final vote only two hours after it had been introduced, with no debate.

Bullshit on both points. Theory says they can get outside coverage but many can't afford it. Those who can get services outside of Britain. To believe waiting 6 months for a procedure or exam or scan is better healthcare shows you have drowned in the koolaid.

To compare our poor system with other bad systems is not the answer. Think outside the box! Looking for a funding solution puts no pressure on costs. Only in a truly open and competitive market will we be able to get better care at lower cost. You and too many others can't see the forest for the trees. Expecting a bureaucratic system to manage cost effectively is madness. Bureaucrats have zero incentive to contain cost or to improve efficiency whether in healthcare, public works, armed forces or schools. Until we free ourselves from such reliance we will continue to bleed for little gain.
