That's just partisan rhetoric. If it is failing it's because Republicans are sabotaging it. Don't believe me? Ask the insurance companies.

McCain also said he would vote no on this bill if it came up for a vote as is and he did vote No. So let's not crucify the dude just yet. Plus you are leaving out his speech that threw a bunch of salt on McConnel's big day.

Edit: I stand corrected, he voted yes twice basically going back on what he promised just hours earlier. Yeah fuck him. My bad.

bullshit.....of course insurance companies want to continue to give birth control benefits to men as these inclusions are costly. How about selling ins across state lines? do you hear the ins companies clamoring for this? what about local exchanges, what about allowing group inclusion to lower costs. you don't hear the ins companies asking for these things in the name of reducing costs. why?

    Great quote by Gentlemen's Quarterly:

"John McCain is the perfect American lie, a man who professes to be noble and fair and just while being none of those things. He served his country honorably in combat, but in no other fashion. And he serves out his time in the Senate, and here on planet Earth, as a pathetic enabler. Never the lion; always the sheep."

See I have an uncle who sells insurance and he absolutely detests Obamacare. I couldn't really figure out why because more people insured means more business right? But then I found out why. It's got nothing to do with his job and everything to do with his family and personal insurance. He makes about 150k per year and ever since Obamacare passed his rates for his and his family's insurance skyrocketed. He pays double what he was paying before Obamacare.

That would have happened with or without Obamacare. Insurance rate increases have declined since Obamacare.

The biggest problem with all these healthcare discussions? The conversation is about what to do with insurance premiums when it should be about getting rid of insurance companies.

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — If you are one of the 426,000 Pennsylvanians who get health insurance through the Affordable Care Act, there is good news and bad news.

Insurance rates are going up next year, but not as high as earlier years, with insurance companies asking for an average rate hike of 6.7 percent for small group plans and 8.8 percent for individuals, the PA Insurance Department reported today.

“We’re not seeing as much of the double digit rate increases that we’ve seen in the past,” says Antoinette Kraus with the PA Health Access Network.

“Pennsylvania’s individual market is stabilizing,” says Teresa Miller, the state’s insurance commissioner, “and the current rate requests we see, which are in line with the annual trend in medical costs, are proof of this.”

But the highest rate increase requested comes from local insurer, Highmark, which wants a 19.65 percent hike.

In contrast, UPMC Health filed for the lowest increase — zero percent.

Highmark defended the increase, noting its Obamacare members are older with more chronic conditions, with 55 percent more cancer, 48 percent more heart disease, and 26 percent more lung disease.

In a statement, Highmark said, “Despite our rate request, in western Pennsylvania, the ACA premium levels are among the lowest in the nation.”

Defenders of the Affordable Care Act say it’s no surprise rates go up since formerly uninsured people like those with pre-existing conditions are now covered, but most get a tax break.

“In Pennsylvania, 80 percent of the folks enrolling in the market place, whether it’s in a Highmark plan or another plan receive tax credits to make insurance more affordable,” Kraus told KDKA money editor Jon Delano. “A lot of times it offsets significant rate increases.”

the whole damn discussion is a joke. For 7 years all we heard was repeal repeal repeal. And now that they actually could, they wont. We are being played neither party wants to touch this disaster that is obamacare.
