John Daly

It came as no surprise that Butch Harmon told John to find another swing coach.

Daly has fallen so far in the rankings the only way he gets to play in Tour events is via sponsors exemptions. Arnie gave him one to play in his event at Bay Hill. The only condition was that John play in the Pro Am today. To no ones surprise Daly misses the tee time and is DQ'd from the tournament.

What a waste of talent. :dis:

 

this is not a direct quote, but Harmon said something to the extent of "The only thing John is interested in is getting drunk," etc...

he is a huge waste of talent.

 

I read in Golf Digest that Harmon told him to stay on his bus and out of Hooters or he would be gone. Daly's a trip, for sure.

 

Hooters would be a good sponsor for Daly if they aren't already. He will be playing on their tour in a year or two.

That is why he got in trouble. He went into their VIP tent during the rain delay last week and had a few beers.

 

and got drunk enough to where he thought having Jon Gruden as his caddy would be a good idea.

thing that bugs me most about thsi story is not the Hooters partying and not the being a drunk, etc...

We expect that from John Daly.

What bugs me the most is he gave Arnold Palmer his word he would be in the pro-am (that was the only reason he got invited) and he broke his word with the 2nd best golfer ever.

That is what bugs me the most.
