I agree, but he has got to be better than that. To get upset that you aren't throwing the ball enough? And that affects you multiple games? If so then he has no future as a football player. I would hope he isn't that fragile.
It's not even the general scheme that's bad, it's that every coach in the NCAA knows exactly what plays Chavis is going to call during the last 2 minutes of a game. He hasn't changed that part of his defense once in his college career.
if you are frustrated you aren't throwing more you better damn well capitalize on the throws you do make, or shut the fuck up and quit playing football.
The ONLY tool he has to make an nfl qb is his armstrength. Can't read quick enough and not mobile enough.
Interesting question...I grabbed the media guide for a little help, but I only went back to 2008, looking post-Bo Pellini as the DC.... 2008 Beat Auburn26-21. Late drive for win Lost in OT to Bama 21-27 2009 Lost to Ole Miss 25-23. The infamous "clock" game Beat Arkansas 33-30 in OT 2010 Beat North Carolina 30-24 Preserved lead with late stop Beat Tennessee 16-14 The "untimed play" game Beat Alabama 24-21 Scored late after the reverse on 4th and 1 2011 Beat 'Bama 9-6 'nuff said So 7-2 in that time in games that went to the wire. Its only in the last 2 seasons that closing out these games has become a real problem. But it is a problem, and it has to be addressed.
Correct, we used to win those close games, now we don't. the last 4 losses have come on the final drive. Didn't we lose to Arkansas on a final drive in 08?
Interesting. I'd be curious to see how many times we have jumped ahead with only a few minutes left and been unable to stop anyone versus how many times our D came up with a stop at the end of the game.
