I don't follow basketball much and haven't seen a game this year but I read something this week that really made me raise an eyebrow. I think it was on rivals, an article about Brady. It mentioned how Brady's team was not one of his "Traditional" teams in that they were more offensive and scored more than his style of strong defense and rebounds. Here's the part that made me go hmmm. It went on to say Brady didn't know, by his own words, how to adjust. Not only is this absurd coming from a college coach's mouth but wtf? Didn't he recruit these kids? To me, it was a high school coach's mentality, HS coaches can't recruit kids to fit their "System" ( At most schools, anyway  ) and do have to adapt the offensive scheme to what they have but in college, you recruit kids to fit your style. Even so, I don't see how hard it could be to "Adjust". Am I missing something? Is it hanging around to get offensive rebounds/following shots to get second ones, in turn, also affecting transition? What's the deal here?
If this team doesn't make a lot of improvement before the end of the season IMO, he needs to go. Scott Drew, son of Homer Drew who was an assistant for Dale Brown when he came to BR, seems to be doing a credible job at Baylor. He took over when the team was on probation and has repeatedly out recruited LSU for some top Louisiana HS players. Baylor beat Wichita St a few weeks back and beat South Carolina at Columbia last night. A Freshman point guard, Lacedarius Dunn, form Monroe lead Baylor with twenty-four points. Brady can't get a point guard and three of the best in the South grew up in Louisiana. One is at Texas, one is at Texas Tech, and the other is at Baylor.
Brady is alot like Jim Haslett was with the Saints a few years back. He wins just enough games to hang aroung. At first, he would have mediocre teams that make the tourny every now and then. THis was enough for him to stay. He had a few down years, then he goes to the final four, that earns him a few more years. This year he will lose, then something will happen just enough for him stay around. Its like a wart on your finger that you think you have rid yourself of it, but it continues to come back.
:geaux: :crystal: :helmet: I don't know if there are any! If there are, they're in the minority for sure. I'm much more a football fan than basketball, but that loss to Wichita State was embarrasing! Then put the collapse at Villanova on top of that. I think it's way past time for him to go. Not only because of losing games you're not supposed to, but look at all the players who have transfered from LSU to other schools since Brady has been there! Ross Neltner sure proved he could play at Vandy, why couldn't he play at LSU. Bottom line, he has won just enough over the years to keep his job. Overall, his program has underachieved big time!! I agree LSU deserves better than this. It wouldn't hurt my feelings if they let him go tomrrow. The future of the program is not with Brady.:LSU231: :champs:
I'm not basketball fan, but I'm ready for a change. Don't mean a hill a beans, just thought I'd chime in.
