Shortly after Penn State head coach Joe Paterno announced he would resign after this season, the university trustees decided they did not want to wait that long, and fired him effective immediately. It is a shame that such a legacy had to end this way.
Perspective will tell us that it is a greater shame that his inaction let a child molester continue his sick agenda for another nine years.
