Does anyone else think that Paterno may be suffering from dementia at this point? I've wondered that for a while, but when he spoke to the students outside his house Tuesday night, it was beyond pathetic how he added in (after saying "I should've done more,"), something about his needing to pray for the victims. It was really weird wording. Did he really think his prayers were going to do doodly-squat after a decade of covering up a crime? I thought he lost it long ago. And I realize that people who never cared for the man see so clearly how screwed up the whole situation is. The people who are sad about Paterno being fired are the ones who grew up with him being held up as a paragon of virtue. Many people feel betrayed, and their shock/outrage at his firing is likely just a matter of their not knowing how to express their feelings appropriately.

As far as izzy he seems to have a problem with me. He strikes me as the kind of guy who thinks he knows everything or thinks he does. Crying ban is not cool, it's a bit sissy.

it's absolutely stunning McQueary hasn't been fired yet and is coaching for Penn State this weekend. this is the guy that saw Sandusky having anal intercourse with a child with his own eyes, and has been on the coaching staff at Penn State ever since then, presumably running into Sandusky again and again on a regular basis over the years. yes, McQueary's father, Joe Pa, the AD, the VP, the President... they all knew about this story too, but none of them saw it with their own eyes except for McQueary. for McQueary to have that image burned into his brain, and to stay on the coaching staff presumably running into Sandusky over and over again throughout the years without doing anything about it (presumably)... it makes him the biggest sicko out of all of them other than Sandusky IMO

well, so far, it appears it was just only one single boy Paterno, McQuery, McQuery's father, the AD, and the President turned a blind eye on (and that boy apparently was having consensual sex with Sandusky, not unconsensual sex -- but it's still just as illegal and it's still heinous). when Joe Pa said he wish he'd done more, he was probably saying that, in hindsight, he wish he'd realized that it wasn't just one boy Sandusky messed around with, but multiple boys so far, it appears that the only people that knew of Sandusky messing around with multiple boys was the Penn State VP Shultz (the guy that was in charge of the police dept, and admitting to knowing about both the 1998 and 2002 incidents), and the two detectives, the protective services investigator, the police chief, and the DA that all knew that Sandusky was messing around with two separate boys in the shower in 1998
