Finally. I think the following statement made by Paterno eats at me the most: "in hindsight, I should have done more" You might as well said, I'm sorry we got caught.
AMEN! If we're gonna talk about this crap .. how bout we talk about SANDUSKY ... you know .. the guy who actually committed the crime!
And JoePa committed a crime in my book by sweeping it under the rug. Sure he said something to his supervisor, but he could of / should of done more. Tom Bradley is interim head coach.
I think you're the only one defending Paterno. Up until 10 minutes ago, he thought he was still controlling things at Penn State and he would just ride off into the sunset with some fairy tale ending to this season, somehow (i.e., win the Rose Bowl). Unbelievable the audacity of this man. Totally out of touch with reality. He doesn't give a lick about what happened to these kids. He only cared about his precious Penn State and his old friend Sandusky.
Best analogy I heard all day is if Joe was told about the incident in the bathroom and it was one of his grand kids, you think he just tells his administration? I bet he goes straight to the cops. Why should it be any different for any other child.
His precious Penn State football program had to be protected at all costs. And don't underestimate his friendship and bond with Sandusky.
