We got good players from other states. We aren't calling the kids from out-of state traitors. We got most of the in-state kids that we wanted and losing some of them is just inevitible.

    Re: McKnight to USC

I'd call it an excellent class, at least. Look at the contributors we got.

some of you are on the verge of being USC fans. I never heard so many excuses for a kid. Bottom line is he isn't going to LSU for whatever reason, his loss. Regardless of what USC gives him, there is only one LSU and the feeling you could have as a player with the LSU fanbase.

My father In law moved here from Corona Calif.

He says you just have to go to the games ( LSU and USC ) to see the difference.

It's like the difference in "hey let's take in a college game this week! What do you say? USC or UCLA? where as in Louisana we say " Hey where are you sitting for the Bama game? GEAUX TIGERS!"

He'll be fine, athleticlly, he'll just miss the boat that's all. Miss the boat on the greatest college football experience and comradarie in the USA.

have they had an earthquake game out in L.A.? other than the real quakes I mean? I didn't think so.

But it's like they say if you never do it you don't really know what you're missing.

Curtis has always been somethig of a renegade. He makes no effort on behalf of LSU.

LSU football is bigger than Joe McKnight, Saban and John Curtis HS. the institution will just have to struggle by without them. somehow I think we'll make it just fine. :helmet: :geauxtige :crystal:

Good luck Joe, I respect his decision. California is a great place to live in and USC is a good school both academically and athletically. I wish him the best of luck in his college and pro career. I hope he stays away from injury and becomes the next Reggie Bush he wants to be.
NOW, we have got one of the best recruiting classes, we got 4 out of 5 of the top players we were after. A great success for Miles and our program, not to mention the job they have done with JM, we were almost going to get him.
WRT next year, I think we have one hell of a team. I tried to convince you guys from the beginning that Joe is just a bonus to our team, we have our main guy in Mr. Keiland, a guy who just amazes me whenever he touches the ball. I hope Broussard can bring back the old days but I doubt it, but he will be our guy for the short 3rd down conversions because of his size and power.
Our QB, position is good, we have a top reciever in Doucet, we have LaFell and either Tolliver or Byrd is going to step up as the 3rd guy if no one from what we have this year can match their talents. And I believe both will see the field often since Crowton will probably use the 4 set of recievers often.
Our D-Line is as good as there is in the country, great set of linebackers and corners too. Our safety position will hopefully be good with Steltz and either Jones (If he doesnt go to MLB) or Francois.
NOW, I believe CLM should convert Hester into a full time FB, Hester is one of the best guys on our team in terms of hard work. But I dont believe we should be using him as a HB anymore. That would be to his advantage because honestly I dont think he is going to be drafted as a RB, but if we bulk him up, with his speed and great catching ability, he will be a FB to be feared. One that will not only block, but will catch and run very often. WRT Tolliver and LaFell, I believe the coaches are going to let them hit the weight room more often than the others, both need to put on some good mass.
That's it I believe for 2007, expect a great team that will contend for the crystal. GEAUX TIGERS, GEAUX McKnight, GEAUX JaMarcus, GEAUX Laron and GEAUX Bowe. Best of luck to everyone in the pros that had the honor of wearing the purple and gold.

Some kids could probably care less about the college experience and are only looking for college to set them up in the pros. Alot of kids grow up watching the NFL and aren't raised to care about college fb. If you've grown up in a crappy neighborhood and have had a tough go of it you might not have alot of state pride.

I think LSU has made strides into getting the attention of these kids because they are a national player. For these kids to live in the backyard of a national power, I think our fanbase and interested talent pool will continue to expand. I remember in the Dinardo years and before when we pretty much assumed kids from New Orleans weren't going to play for LSU. That attitude has been changed.

No matter what happens, there are going to be kids that want to see the world. There will be kids that want a change of scenery in hopes of leaving a bad scene behind. Things like that happen. I hope McKnight has a good career and if he crosses our path he is Tiger Bait.

Also one thing to remember is Joe has a brother Jonathon that will be just as good or even better so we shouldnt go to hard on him or we'll lose him.Next year the RB from Carenco "Landry" we'll be great and maybe a 5* also so lets worry about getting the next great recruit.
