i'm sorry, but this post is simply moronic. Please consider the state of mind that young men have today, especially of a young man who lost everything in Katrina.
A MAJOR factor in his decision was Norton being "Like a father figure" to him. We know the bonds the coaches can establish are just as important as how and when they will be utilized. USC plans to use him the same way(s) we were going to. It hurts that we lost him but we need to cheerish the ones we landed and hopefully conduct ourselves with a little class in our comments cause don't think we don't have people coming to see our reactions and they're getting a snapshot of our fanbase so let's let it be a good picture.....he's gone, get over it- LSU will be o.k. We are still LOADED! :thumb:
Re: McKnight to USC He wants a public relations degree and they have the best program, plus he wants to live far away from home. This is what he stated were his reasons to go to USC. In other words USC will give him a degree and make sure he has a Reggie deal (hehehe just kidding). Also he stated that USC and Bush have gauranteed him that there will be no investigation or sanctions at USC. B
I am am not mad he went to USC. In the advocate article he talks about his decision and he seems like a respectable kid. He wants a chance to live away from home and go to the best school that will help him pursue a commentator job. He struggled with his decision and did what he thought was right. I will pull for him to have a great football career. However, if NSD was yesterday afternoon he would be a tiger right now.:nope: Geaux Tigers, we will have a chance to show him what LSU is all about in the 2007 BCSNC game. http://www.2theadvocate.com/sports/5620191.html
Re: McKnight to USC "Failing our State"? I let it go on the other forum but since you feel the need to post this again I'll give you my take. With all the problems we have in NOLA and our public schools, etc and you want to single him out as "Failing our State"? I am tremendously dissapointed JM has chosen a school other than LSU too but come on. You're leaving out the fact that he said Coach Norton was like a father-figure to him....don't think that doesn't weigh in heavy in a recruits' decision. Get off Curtis. I'd expect a coach to help any kid arrive at a decision he is comfortable with. It's bigger than just "College football". It's 4 years of their lives.
That advocate article was an interesting read. He really didn't have his mind made up until early this morning. He could have had a family at LSU as USC but with his interest in media and broadcasting, he will have a stronger foundation and exposure at USC giving him opportunities if his football career does not gel. Good luck to him. It was a little dissapointing to see Reggie Bush have a say here. Makes it just a little bitter to route for him in a Saints uniform.
Re: McKnight to USC That's what I say. After Tolliver's appearance on the U, I was totally over the JM thing. ESPNU spent a lot of time talking about how good things are for LSU. If one player ruined our signing day, we wouldn't have much of a class, would we? Over the last few days, we all lusted after Francois, Tolliver, Byrd, Jones and that Trojan dude. We've already got 3 of 4 and hopefully will get 4/5. It's all good in Tigerland. Now it's on to baseball since I'm totally ignoring that other sport (and all related threads).
Re: McKnight to USC I really think McKnight is going to regret this decision. USC has signed three RB's today now. USC adds another top running back Four-star Little Rock (Ark.) running back Broderick Green added to USC's impressive stable of running backs by signing to play with the Trojans. Green chose USC over Penn State and Ohio State and joins five-star running back commitments Joe McKnight and Marc Tyler. For more on the Trojans' late push visit, USCFootball.com
