While they were really good don't discount how much better Joe actually made them. As if his stats weren't enough the things he did that don't show in a box score were immeasurable.
My buddy is 56, Ed Orgeron is 58, Saban is 68, Bill Belichek is 67 and Dabo Swinney is 50. Try something else.
Oh absolutely. The entire scheme was designed to maximize the strengths of the players nad minimize the weaknesses.
This is a great point. Happy they won the Moore award for Best O line, but I look at Burrow like I do Brees, and he made that O line look better than they actually were. There's absolutely no doubt about that. Aside from his pocket presence which is obscene, his decision making knowing exactly where to go with the football one step ahead of the defense on so many of those pass plays this season. How many huge hits you saw (and on many occasions didn't get to see) as he was releasing yet another perfect pass? Too numerous to mention. His QB rating when getting hit this season was something we'll never see again. That's my biggest fear next season is that Brennan could make the O line look worse than they actually are. I don't think that will be the case, but it's a possibility. He's gonna have to trust his reads and let the ball go.
This is a great point. People don’t realize how many times Joe escaped pressure and made them look good.
The line was significantly better in many ways. Of course Joe had a lot to do with it as mentioned above. However look at how few penalties we had of all types even though we switched line ups almost every game. I give the line coach credit, the players for maturing and to Moffitt. I read head tried a new program that really improved their strength.
Yeah, there was a reason Joe had a 2.3 second clock in his head. Literally, time management at an elite level
