how do want the government to protect you from high commodity prices? things cost what they cost. do you want, for exmple, the government to subsidize cheap oil buy paying the oil companies? yunno that just menas oil still costs alot you are just paying for it in taxes? and it destroys the competition developing alternative enrgy? and when i say the market protects you, i mean in the sense hat it gives you freedom of choice. you are protected from abusive employers because you can get another job. you are protected from high prices becasue yu dont have to buy. but the government doesnt give you choice. if they decide, for example to subsidize corn, you have no choice. your taxes are going to corn. goodbye choice. goodbye freedom.
"asking for the government ... fight to make rent lower." lasalle seriously. explain how this would happen. basically you are talking about blueprint for misery. stop asking the government to beat down the person who wants to sell you things. i dont come to your office and fight you and make you work for less, do i? i dont go to your boss and make him cut your salary so whatever products you guys are selling are cheaper, do i? i either buy what u are selling, or i dont. and you will lower prices until you are selling. thats how the market works. you cant just gouge people, it doesnt happen unless you have a monopoly, which isnt possible today unless the government is helping you destroy your competition. and that happens when people like you have the government destroy business.
i know this is really the favorite thing to say of the sort of wacky ron paul set, but honestly it it doesnt appear to me that inflation is very bad or that the dollar has lost much value.
This is why Nancy taught kids to just say no. This is the reason we have had to suffer the polosi reed Obama nightmare. Sheeple just follow the unicorns all the way over the rainbow into a socialistic nightmare hell.
This is the kind of hate rhetoric I hear from folks who don't know what they are talking about. You shouldn't listen to SabanFan either.
It sure would have. It would also have collapsed the entire world's economy and put billions of people below the poverty level. Companies who had nothing to do with these shady practices would not have access to credit, be unable to run their businesses, pay employees, etc. It had nothing to do with these companies suffering; It had everything to do with the rest of the world suffering because of these companies. Stupid is treating economics like they're in a vacuum. This **** affects people in ways you can't possibly fathom, but all you give a **** about is whether or not your position on the free market and economics is proven correct.
i would loan them money. a good investment is a good investment. supafan and sabanfan and i would start a new company that only loaned to good risks. and we would get tons of business if what you say is true and worthy companies couldnt get any credit. we would get rich! sounds like somebody got a hold of another 13 page article.
end speculation or at least regulate. The government also is supposed to protect from abuse, and greed. That's why you regulate. If you don't it's the wild wild west and you get Enron everywhere.
That's another issue, those big firms and banks were given bailout money and what did they do with it? They paid out their CEO's and big wigs bonuses instead of using the money for what it was meant for, loaning. That's why I say the market doesn't protect sh!t from sh!t.
