Im thinking that I dont mind JJ getting the start, he is the one coming out of the locker room with the serious pre-game jitters and if he doesnt set the bar very high for J-Lee, then J-Lee comes into the game with more confidence and hopefully after looking at some tape from the 1st few series, he comes in with a better idea of what to expect. And, I just want to throw this out there, If I am CLM/Chavis, I am putting a lot of pressure on my defense to put our offense in good situations to make plays. Quick 3-outs to bring a tired Auburn Defense back out, generate some turnovers and just all around take the fun out of the game for Cam Newton & The Auburn offense
UNC - first series = missed FG; second series = TD Vandy - first series = punt; second series = punt Miss St - first series = FG; second series = FG WVU - first series = INT (through TT's hands after a long drive); second series = punt Tenn - first series = TD; second series = INT (poor late throw) UF - first series = FG; second series = INT McNeese - first series = punt; second series = punt Yep, he stunk against Vandy and McNeese in the opening drives. Yep, he tends to throw INTs early in the game. But he is not nearly as bad in the opening drives as some on this thread are fearing. He is NOT a three and out machine in the first two series. He has plenty of problems and is not playing well, but it is not the end of the world that he is starting.
but it is not the end of the world that he is starting. __________________ ok I feel better you are not making my point by not putting what J. Lee has done in each game with his 1st and 2nd series of each game he has played in
I am not posting to prove your point. :yelwink2: I am posting to point out to those who are overstating things, that it is not a sure fired 3 and out. OK, that one was a bit tongue and cheek... Sure, Lee might do better. But apparently Miles does not think so. Call him and idiot or trust him. He knows the players better than I. I will trust him. If he screws up, then I will analyze it after it has happened. Hard to predict how these kids will do. Like most, I thought Lee would never recover...
Where have you been, Barney? I've been screaming for Lee for a year now. If you still can't understand what I was saying about Les' confusing rambling about starting quarterbacks, its not my problem.
I think we understand what you're saying, the problem is no one thinks les is doing any of this to bewilder anybody. He's genuinely missing this one and it's hard to figure out how.
Fred is that you where is Wilma?? it's simple JJ = .5 JL = 1 1 + 1 will always = 2 1 + .5 will always = 1.5 we will always be to the better playing JL right now more JL will equal more points Coach Miles
; }Miles confirms Jefferson will start vs. Auburn Posted by SCOTT RABALAIS | Advocate sportswriter | on October 20, 2010 | 7:20 p.m. Travis Spradling/The Advocate LSU coach Les Miles said Jordan Jefferson (9) will make his eighth start of the season Saturday at Auburn. Les Miles was emphatic in his declaration after practice Wednesday that Jordan Jefferson will be LSU’s starting quarterback Saturday when the No. 6-ranked Tigers travel to take on No. 5 Auburn. Asked whether Jefferson would start, Miles nodded, then added: “Yes. Absolutely, yes.” Miles’ announcement means Jarrett Lee will again come off the bench to see action. Lee has been the more productive quarterback since LSU started alternating the two in wins against Florida and McNeese State. In the two games, Lee has started 11 drives that resulted in eight touchdowns (two scored on runs by Jefferson), a missed field goal and just two punts. Jefferson has started 12 drives that resulted in three field goals, seven punts, a fumble by him, an interception and no touchdowns.
I just hope that the decision CLM made does not affect J-Lee's confidence. One would think that at some point J-Lee & Family is going to say, "This is Bullsh!t" I hope CLM is pulling J-Lee to the side & giving him a pretty damn good explanation, because even if J-Lee is pissed off, he is not going to admit it to the team or the media.
I don't know if everyone remembers that JL is/was a slow starter and almost always came into games after the first couple of series. I also think that it is the mindset of Miles and company that if it's worked up unto this point, why not do it again? I am extremely comfortable with their decision to start JJ. Should be a great day for the TIGAHS!! :geaux:
