I wonder if he just threw that as hard as he could, or he did not judge RR's speed acurately because it was a live game situation. I would bet that RR never ran a route at that speed in practice. I dunno, probably just threw it as hard as he could...

It got there pretty damned fast! Beautiful pass on a rope, and if he'd led him very much more, Randle would've had trouble making the reception in the end zone. Don't want to take anything away from JJ outside of the fact that he's still making slow reads on receivers getting open. If they're open, he seems to be accurate and has a very strong arm.

Here is what Randle said about the play:

I think you hit a key point. I look at it as more of JJ ensuring that the WR is wide open or JJ lofts it to ensure only the WR can catch it.

Timid and safe, but productive at times.

I know most hate it or disagree with it, but JJ’s so called slowness in the pass hasn’t and doesn’t hurt the Offense.

    It’s the play calling.

When LSU attacks like they did in the 2nd quarter, not many teams can stop it. It is when the LSU staff gets in this “SAFE” mode that puts a damper on things.

In all, that 1 pass to RR will helps JJ’s confidence so much and I expect 1-2 long ones like that a game.

Liked what RR had to say, he's all business and thats a good thing. You could see his abilities last year now he's really going to be involved. He really flashed the speed on that touchdown pass.

Interesting. I though he was saying "they can't see you" to Randle. Randle was sooooooo wide open.

i don't think he should have done the you can't see me, but oh well. good pass, better reaction to the ball and catch, i like the fact that Jefferson got pummeled and got back up, stepped into his throw, was a pretty play.

It also shows our coaches are coaching. They noticed the safety cheating up when Shepard was in the backfield so they called a fake to RS. The fake gave RR the opening he needed to break open.

Him holding his ground in the pocket, even as it started to close down around him, was another very postive sign.
