Hopefully we can continue to do this and keep the offense opened up: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s0A9GOjKKC0]YouTube - Jordan Jefferson 55 yard strike to Rueben Randle[/ame]
That was a beautiful play, indeed. I must agree, I hope we see a lot more like that! It also shows that JJ DOES have the ability, its there. Now if he can just call on it at will, he'll have an awesome year.
And he had the blocking that allowed the play to develop. Nice play. I saw somewhere people were complaining about the "you can't see me" he did after that throw. To me, JJ needs confidence, and I'm OK with him enjoying a moment like that. Hopefully it'll instill confidence in him, and that will transfer to the rest of the offense. He has the receivers...no doubt about that. He just has to trust them...and himself.
Man that sure was beautiful! I hope we can hit RR and TT on many more deep ones like that, especially since Russell Sheppard will likely be keeping opposing safeties honest.
Im ok with it also...we're seriously missing that swagger shown by the 2007 team and it tells me maybe JJ realizes this.
You said a mouthfull! I agree. Young man has suffered the criticism for the last year. He deserves to feel the moment a bit. All the Tiger fans were excited, JJ was too. That's good, you're young, enjoy it. RR is pretty young to, have a little fun! :geaux:
Good to great blocking on that - TE let the DE get to JJ right at the end. But JJ had plenty of time. Great use of Shep in play action on that as well. Not to get negative on a positive, but I'll say it - JJ still waiting a tad too long. Randle was WIDE open well before JJ threw the ball and had to slow down, almost allowing the defender to block the pass. Great throw 60 yards on a rope. Great catch. Randle is going to live up to his billing if JJ can find him when he opens up. But JJ needs to speed up his recognition of receivers getting open.
That was awesome. My only irritation is that stupid "you can't see me" thing. I've always been a big supporter of the Barry Sanders way of scoring TDs - act like you've been there before. We didn't do that crap in '03.
Yeah, Barry Sanders had so much fun playing football that he quit at 30. And yes we did in 2003...mostly on defense.
