Can't argue with CLM's choice of who to play this year.......... oh wait a minute, that's what this thread is about isn't it?:milesmic: I trust in Miles. His formula has worked thus far and it will continue until we are 14-0. But I still believe our best QB is on the bench.

Looks like I finally touched a nerve ;) It's all good man. For the record, that is the first time I have EVER used the term negatiger, chill. As I have stated many times previously, I prefer JL as our starter. That said, I am not going to lose sleep over the possibility that CLM might start JJ, who guided us to 11-2 last year and is better this year than he was last year. CLM gets paid a ton of $ to put us in the best position to win. I have made a conscious decision to trust him in that regard.

Last year, I was nervous during most of our games because of JJ and our lackluster offense. However, the more I think about it, the more I realize it was Crowton, not JJ, screwing up the offensive production. Saturday, even with JJ starting, I was not worried at all. CLM knows what he is doing.

There were people in my section b!tching all the way thru the 3rd quarter because JJ was in instead of JL. Guess what? We were winning - convincingly. Now I ask you, were you one of the ones b!tching during the first 3 quarters of the game? If you were, why? Are you not happy with 35-9 at the end of 3 quarters?

We will always have the luxury of playing Monday morning QB. That's why we're at home playing on the computer instead of making millions as a coach. We give up the cash for the right to make the calls.

For me the QB issue is two-fold.

    1) The talent we have amassed during the past decade has been unreal. It just amazes me we can't find and/or develop a quality QB to mirror the rest of the team; and...

    2) I've been around a long time and never seen a QB get so many opportunities at a top D1 school and not make any progress. Had JJ not screwed up off the field he would be looking at 40 starts at LSU. How many guys have started 40 times in college? How many of those played for a top tier school? How many of those started 40 times and never progressed?

I don't think JL or JJ are the answer. After two seasons of JJ as the starter with a very stagnant offense it was looking good with JL as the starter and JJ getting significant time off the bench. It worked.

I'm really worried if JJ plays as much as he did last weekend. He hasn't proven he can win big games in a consistent basis and I really don't want to revert to last season. Lee came off the bench to win some big games last season but the damage had already been done against Auburn and Arkansas.

Miles make big bucks for his decisions. I just hope and pray he makes the correct from here on out. I (like many others) have never understood his fascination with JJ but I hope he gets it right. I really hope we won't need the defense and special teams to score for us to win.

Well, do you think JL is a good QB? I don't and I don't think that you can honestly say that he is. I think that he is too inaccurate, too immobile, and way way too unsure of himself to be an effective QB.

Well sorry, we didn't have an average QB last year. That is over and it has nothing to do with this year's argument. We didn't have an average QB because we didn't have a QB coach to coach them up. We do now and he has done so.

So you advocate turning it over to the guy that couldn't beat out the guy that couldn't get the job done the past two years...

JL is better than last year and JJ is better than last year.

Many give JL's poor performance an excuse that it was against Bama's awesome D but fail to lay the slow start in the game last week on the shoulders of the entire team. JJ played pretty well last week and has at almost every opportunity this season. JL has not. Yes we won, but in your mind wins don't seem to help JJ's case any (11-2 last year with a loss to BSC champs AU and a loss due to horrible defense on LSU's part?).

Contrary to your blind loyalty to JL, he has hit the hands of defenders in most games this season. That doesn't mean much to fans that didn't see a turnover, but in that film room, that means a lot to the coaches. Sorry, but a LARGE part of being the QB of a corvette team is NOT SCREWING UP in the big game. JL did. He may have lost his starting job. That is football.

This venom toward JJ is just way over the top...

I was not bitching but was 1) disappointed that JJ started; and 2) not suprised the offense was not moving with JJ leading the effort.

I knew we had far too much talent to lose and we would start pounding the ball in the trenches. I was glad we were playing a weak team. The first half offensive effort wouldn't have worked against many of the teams we've faced this year.

Some of the QBs problems can be blamed on GC but staring down a WR, clock management, failure to read defenses, poor decision making, etc. for a three-year starter can't be blamed on the previous coach.

I won't boo and will support any Tiger (hell I even supported Demetrius Hoofkin :hihi:) but really hope the JL=starter - JJ=backup that got us to 10-0 remains in place.

I guess we'll see what the fans want when each gets introduced during senior day. I expect clapping for Jefferson and a standing ovation for Lee. Does that make Lee a great QB or even a better QB than JJ?...absolutley not.

It will just mean fans respect him for being thrown under the bus in 2008...watching an average QB get every opportunity to start ahead of him in 2009 & 2010...coming off the bench to win huge games in 2010...and to be replaced after leading the team to a 9-0 start in favor of someone who has never progressed yet always gets the benefit of a doubt.

I have a lot of respect for Lee. He never whined like someone else when he obviously has more just cause to do so.

Not meaning to nitpick... but... it may have seemed that way but we didn't throw the ball more often than usual. We threw the ball fewer times on Saturday than in any game except for the Alabama and Florida games. Jefferson only had 10 pass attempts in the first half and was sacked once.

That being said, you are correct when you say that we did not pound the ball. We played the same sh!tty, ineffective option/QB draw offense that we ran in 2009 and 2010 with JJ.

I have no "blind loyalty" to Lee. I just don't understand why some of you hang all over JJ's jock when he's not a very good and DEFINITELY not a well-rounded QB.

As I've stated before...we have two average QBs on our team. JJ has proven he can't win it alone. I advocate what got us here...JL as the starter and JJ as the decoy/backup/change of pace QB.

If you disagree...great, that's your opinion. If you try to tell me JJ is a good QB...that's not an opinion, that's just bad drugs.

I give them both an "E" for effort but that's all. Like another poster stated...with Lee you take risks but you get rewards. With Jefferson you'll avoid turnovers and hope to do just enough to let the defense win the game. That's pretty accurate.

I hope JJ gets on a roll and plays great in four straight games. I just have my doubts as he hasn't had four great games in three years and now we hope he gets four in a row. I'll keep my fingers crossed!

209 yards of which came in the second half.

StaceyO was referring to the first half... I responded with observations and stats on the first half. You feel free to continue being ass though.
