I gotcha Stacy but let's look at what we could've done the past three years with a decent QB. I also think the Bama rematch talk would be a moot point as we would've won easily with a decent QB. We also wouldn't be talking about possible issues against Arkansas or Georgia. Our defense and special teams won a lot of those games. I just hope if we need the offense to win a game the QB position will be up to the task. I'm not sure there are many Tiger fans confident the QBs can win a game on their own. Even though we're 10-0 we haven't had many opportunities to work Mett into the games. At this point in the season it probably won't happen unless someone is injured. Had we had quality QB play and not this rotation we would've had an opportunity to get Mett significant experience. Now he'll go into next year as the starter without that experience. I'm not complaining...just saying we have been loaded at every position except QB. We've managed to get by but would be a minor league NFL team with a good QB. I think we may have one next year. :thumb:
Who really cares about the last 3 years? We had way more issues than just a QB the last 3 years too. Why can't you just enjoy today, this year, this title run? Why do we always have to find something to b!tch about? Why can't we just be happy and live this very rare time as a Tiger fan the hell up?!?
Who said I'm not enjoying this season? If someone makes a stupid comment though (like JJ is a good QB) I'm going to respond. That's kind of what a forum is for. Regarding "more issues"...with an average QB we would've beaten Auburn and Arkansas last season. Go back and watch the tape. My concern is the same guy who couldn't get the job done the past two years may have just been given control of the team. If so...it's a huge topic of conversation. It hasn't worked before and he hasn't improved so yes...many are worried and it's a valid topic. I hope we go back to what got us this far. If so, I think we're in great shape. If not, I guess you'll be seeing many more threads in this forum.
If Mettenberger would have been given some quality snaps in the first 4 games, we would no be having this discussion of JJ starting. Mett would be starting and we'd be talking about what JJ and JL are going to do after graduation. Mett has experience behind him. He had a redshirt at UGA, was beating out Murray at UGA, and had a quality season of JUCO. I enjoy this team and our success so far, and I think it will continue this season, no matter who starts, JJ or JL. But, I will be glad to not see JJ or JL start for this team next season.
I am no negatiger. Just happen to think the best QB is sitting on the bench. Turns out we are good enough in other aspects of the game to continue to win with JJ and JL. I hope we keep getting the job done with JJ and JL because Mett is not going to see the field this season. I guess we'll know in the Spring Game if Mett is for real or not.
Just like everyone's agenda that "JL shoulda played more last year" too? It happens from year to year based on who plays well. It is called hindsight.

Nobody is saying this is a horrible team. NOBODY! Nobody is demanding to fire the coaching staff. NOBODY! Nobody is suggesting we're going to lose our next three games. NOBODY! What the hell is the deal with you people who use terms like "Negatiger" everytime you disagree with someone? There's tons of other threads. Go visit those if you don't like what people say. I guess you opinion and your opinion ALONE is the only one that matters. Everyone else is just stupid. Do you realize you guys bitch more about people's opinions than people bitch about the QBs. At least the QB discussion is relevant. Some are in favor of JL...some are in favor of JJ...some want a 50/50 split. It's the position which touches the ball more than anyone else so it's relevant and worthy of discussion. If we're just supposed to sit back and not discuss anything...why even have a forum?
