He wasn't holding his helmet, he was wearing it. I don't think he took it off from the time he was benched until the final whistle blew in the BNCG.
bhelm - a thought, I could be right or wrong but here is just a thought. Obviously recruiting in this day and age is HUGE business "you can not argue with that and if you do you are flat out living on jupiter" Kiel was a huge prospect the most highly touted QB this year and one of the top 5 in the country "again you can't argue with that" Kiel commits right after Christmas with so much fan fare and comments like "I woke up the weekend before Christmas and knew it was LSU" he was gung-ho LSU "he says and his parents also." He has already had one recruiting fiasco with Indiana and everyone already knows why - because they suck he de-committed after they lost a few games!! So he is not a kid true to his word at that point "lot of recruits do the same thing" but now he does it twice and it goes into character of the kid. Well the first time it was blamed on the kid, the family might try and protect the kid a little and try and take as much of the blame as possible. What easier way than to say "Mom really wanted to have the kid play close to home and the kid felt so bad and so much pressure from the family that he caved in." Rather than saying "you know after really watching you guys and your offensive mind set our son is a pure pocket passer and it surely seems you are a pure big ten run style offense "makes sense your coach is a big ten man" after more thought our son decided he wants to be where they throw the ball a lot and we don't think the Tigers are it." there is one possibility and here is another possibility. Just maybe the family did not want to throw Les Miles under the bus because they already knew he was going to take heat for Kiel bailing at the last minute and they felt bad enough already that they didn't want to tell the world what they really felt after the BCSNC. Like I said I could be right or wrong, but the day you believe everything you hear from family members the same family members that already committed to 2 schools in 6 months and broke their word to both schools - well sorry BHELM their word is not worth the paper it is written on. I understand you are the guru, but haven't you been wrong? Haven't you heard lies from family members and recruits before? Do you actually believe T. Davis when he stated the reason he went to Texas was "he talked to a few players down there and they did not seem happy" and it had nothing to do with the 6 LB's we signed in the class and he knew that he was going to have to compete hard for the job a lot harder than at Texas. Or that the players at Texas were happier than LSU players after going 8-5 in 11 and 4-7 in 10. Come on seriously???? So ok maybe you believe everything you hear from these kids and their families I guess at age 51 and watching everything I have seen with college recruiting for the past 30 years I am a little more jaded. People have agenda's and will play to them in some instances, not saying this happened here but it could have. Do I believe the family and playing closer to home had something to do with Kiel flipping for the 2nd time and choosing Notre Dame - ABSOLUTELY. But do I feel that was the ONLY reason - ABSOLUTELY NOT!!! You can comment all you want but you will not change my mind because all you have is an opinion. Again I could be right or wrong does not matter to me but that is my opinion and I am entitled to it just like you entitled to yours!!!
You are correct the buck stops at the Head Coach!!! Of all people he is the one person that could change it without any questions if he wanted to. He is the man in charge and the buck always stops and starts with the man in charge. Like I have said he gets the credit when we win and he has to take the blame when we lose - WHICH THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT PART - FOR THE MOST PART HE HAS TAKEN THE BLAME to his credit.
Jordan Who? I wanna say we had a quarterback once named Jordan something or another, but I have since forgotten.
You are free to come up with as many theories as you want. The details and discussions I have had before committing, during, and after don't stray in the least bit. I know when to question the words of some and especially the motives. That is why I feel comfortable sharing information because I weed through all of it and talk to multipe people. I for the most part don't believe most of what I hear especially from prospects themselves and have always been that way. Also, you are taking words from articles about waking up on Christmas and parents being Gung-ho were not the case. Both parents pushed before he committed and after to not go away from home but knew they couldn't force him. BTW, Kiel decommitted from Indiana mainly because the family was not happy with how the coaching staff treated their other son. Indiana was losing before and after his commitment. Also, please don't feel like your are being chastized for having an opinion. Not sure where that stems from and have seen it multiple times. Everyone on this board have different viewpoints and theories including myself. I will post the information I have like usual so please don't take offense and enjoy yourself here. :thumb:
I can assure you not! I think I have been married to everyone on this board...tiga, shane, tirk, RW, you name him I am sure someone said I have flirted or have been married to them.:rolleye33:
I have had plenty of time to think about the end of LSU's season and have reached a conclusion that is satisfactory to ME. The stupidist people in the world list. #1 Jordan Jefferson #2 Les Miles #3 Anybody that don't like this post #4 Your choice....................
