Des is playig to the camera. Not getting enough press for Bull Shifting statements like Herbie, and Corso.
Hope jj doesn't have an emotional breakdown like last week. The team won't respect him if he pouts and has a hissy fit. They will respect him if he stands strong and delivers. The qb sets the tone for the offense. Will coach let him stay in the game if he melts down again. Would you rather have a bad qb with the heart of a lion that makes mistakes or have a qb that doesn't make as many mistakes but has a leadership problem. I hope we don't see jj start where he left off last Saturday. If he does will coach make the change. We will see.
Well, if you ask me, if he's not a dual-threat QB, we shouldn't be trying to play him like one. As stupid and stubborn as it was for OC's to force Mike Vick to play in the West Coast O early in his career (after Reeves retired), it's equally stupid to ask a pocket passer to try to run a spread option system. It's a mishmash right now because our system isn't built to accentuate Jefferson's talents. We need to run more of a pro-style offense with JJ. He does his best work on two-WR routes. Max pro, sell the play action, let Rueben, D-Pete and TT stretch the field and go up and get it. Rotate in Shep for some underneath routes and misdirection. (I personally would like to see Shepard rotate in with Blue as our third-down back but that's another story.) Whoever said Mark Richt would be a good OC for LSU (we can only dream), I agree completely. His type of system would be perfect for our personnel. I-form, three-wide, a lot of double tight end, a lot of power with some play action, etc. With a strong armed QB (like Stafford, and to a lesser extent, Jefferson) you need to sell the run, then hit wide open guys downfield.
Well finally an appropriate description for that crew! I guess we shouldn't expect anything else from them. ldskule:
