He hit the two plays in the seam really welll and that is what LSU has been missing but at the end of the day he really can't get the ball out on time which leads to the weird going backwards routine. The option crap is crap, even when he gets positive yards it's just ugly, and eventually he is going to get his head knocked off. It a total team effort in looking that ugly including Jefferson... but it as long as you have Crowton, it's going to look ugly. IMHO Been saying it since the 5th game of 2008, Crowton is horrible.
He looked just like last year and has not demonstrated the "improvement" that Les said he had made. He's got an arm, but he doesn't know when to throw. He doesn't hit a second receiver, if his man is covered he starts scrambling . . . backwards for big losses twice, and topping them with a foolish interception put up for grabs and intentional grounding. It took us out of field goal range, which might have iced the game. We simply cannot wait another 11 games for Jefferson to mature. Another scoreless half against Vanderbilt and Les will have to see if Lee can do any better.
It is amazing that peopleare blaming our win on anyone. JJ wasn't spectacular, but he had two TDs and one INT. Only 150 yds for passing is troubling but I suspect it will get better
You have a better chance with Jefferson if Crowton is the OC, get rid of Crowton then I would say Lee. It's neither QBs problem, this is and has been an OC problem. With that said, Jefferson's release is just way too slow. IMHO
This seems to be your only message. Crowton did well when he had a thinking quarterback to work with.
No. The team was set, they didn't change much when he came in except the stupid player substitution crap, which worked for about a year until everyone figured it out. The Mormon Prophecy has been fulfilled.
I am wacko, you can go out on forums where BYU fans predicted this when Crowton was hired, they were all screaming. No, you are the wacko.
3 yards and a cloud of dust offense will not give JJ any chance at true success this year So, no, the key is not JJ. He doesn't control his own fate, unfortunately. We'll never witness how good he truly can be.
Of course, he controls his own fate. We've seen how good Jefferson can be . . . and this is all he's got. It ain't enough.
