Dude, this nothing compared to what Miles has endured from 2008-10. If he can survive all that, spurn his alma mater (again) and sign an extension. Then I think he can withstand this. He understands that with passionate fan support, it can unfortunately lead to bad displays of passion.
You think the expectations and demands are LESS in the NFL than in college?!?! You think the booing he's heard at LSU is gonna be LESS than at ANY NFL head coaching job???
You know... I heard about this but never read the article. I've tailgated and whatnot and have attended a few. Outside of the Nebraska ass whuppins' we received in the Super Dome years ago (Orange Bowl) in which FROZEN oranges were thrown on the field I would have liked to have thought this crap was long gone. I lived in Michigan for 15 years and the worst I've found to be was Ohio State: damaging cars with MI plates and spitting on people. Great football tradition and team but really???? I've seen some things that make me question the mentality of the fans here. Booing JJ was one of them. Oh, well...
Miles knows that our team is young and will most likely be top five in the preseason polls next year also. If he decides to try the NFL out any other coach would know that coming to lsu would put him in position to win a championship first year. I hope that miles stays because he knows he has it good year no matter if he is upset over booing. You can't ever tell what a coach will do. We didn't think saban would leave either.
LSu fans love the drama of anything that has little to do with the football JJ JJ JJ JJ JJ JJ JJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJ
There are many that still say he should not have been suspended at all. What many don't seem to realizecomprehend is that student-athletes must abide by the rules and guidelines set forth in the LSU Department of Athletics Student-Athlete Handbook the LSU Student-Athlete Code of Conduct & Ethics is involved. (besides 'team rules' that were broken that all that broke curfew had to be punished for) From the Code of Conduct & Ethics: AND From the Student-Athlete Handbook: JJ is a LSU Student-Athlete (whether you like it or not), an Athletic Scholarship holder (whether you like it or not), and as such *Accepted* and *Agreed* to abide by the rules and guidelines in both of these documents. So please, no more 'it was wrong to suspend him' litanies. Just for the record: The NCAA has NO 'rule' that deals with arrests at all... and defers to individual University policy. "Nowhere in the voluminous manual does any form of the word "arrest" appear. Despite delving into just about every area of regulation imaginable, the NCAA has chosen to remain silent on the ever-increasing issue of college athletes getting into trouble with the law. Instead, decisions on how to handle troubled players facing criminal charges and convictions are left to each individual university, each of which have a vested interest in athletic success."
