sorry crip, but i gotta call bullsh!t on that one.

pocket presence, and that lil clock in a QB needs in his head are all instinctive.

it doesn't matter if he called the play in the huddle, and audible, this sideline crap, or radio waves coming from Mars.

the sacks he's taking have nothing to do with how the play is called.
he takes a really long 7 step drop, then does this lil hop before setting his feet.
that process alone in taking up enough time for a D-Lineman to get into the backfield.

He handed the ball off against UGA.. and he did not want the ball when the game was on the line. It was painfully obvious that this was the case against UF too. He's playing scared. I'd rather have J. Lee in there right now.. he was never afraid.

Jefferson was a liability last night. We lost games with Lee in because of a poor defense -- not because of offensive production (which was very good). We have a good defense and we proved it last night. We can afford to take a risk or two if Lee will put points on the board.

This is a good point, one I had not seen vs. last year, since nobody has been interested in giving Lee another chance this year. But it is the truth. We scored a lot last year, the D just let the other team score more than us.

Say what you will there are 2 types of LSU offenses on the field.

The one that operates from the huddle and is able to move the ball down the field for scores!!

    And

The one that operates from the sideline and goes 3 and out!

Perfect comparison. I think your dead on. Another comparison I find with the Aaron Brooks is JJs demeanor on the field. He moves reacts and moves slowlyon the field. The guy just doesnt have the "IT" factor.. This level of competition is just way over his head, at least at this point of his career.

I don't think it's THAT "way over" since he's 5-1 as a starter this year. :thumb:

He's 1-1 against good teams.. not sure we can count UGA as "good" either.

True but 1 of those 1's was THE 1. Last year and currently.

yes they need to get rid of that sideline crap. It makes JJ look worse than he is.

he is dropping back too far because he has no confidence in his line. he is trying to put distance between himself and the Defenders who are ALL OVER our Line. its a natural tendency, right or wrong.
Its called self protection those D lineman can knock Tebow out they can dahm sure knock JJ out and he knows it.

I submit to this forum that JJ probably looks great in practice with no pressure. Give him time and he could probably hurt a team with his arm. Go back and look at the GT bowl game.

Number one reason not to put any other Qb in. Why we have the same O line either way for $500 Alex.

He's hurting the line (and the team) by taking such deep drops. Any QB can look great given all the time in the world.
