C'mon, man. There were those times, but there were others where the DEs just zoomed past the tackles and headed straight for JJ. On the 4th down conversion attempts, the line didn't block and the WRs just ran around in circles. Ciron Black is an average lineman at best. He is a product of having better linemen surrounding him last season. His draft stock is plummeting with every game. In the Tigers or the coaching? JJ is getting more and more scared, much like Lee got worse and worse last season. Shepard wasn't used once. Why not have him come in and run that fake draw bomb that Perrilloux used to run? I just don't get it.
He panics when the play comes in from the sideline. When he feels he has control of the offense he does what it takes to complete the pass look at the last drive before the 4th down fumble/sack. He was completing passes because he felt comfortable with the play and his ability to execute the play!
Pretty much agree. Problems with JJ that can be corrected: - too deep when dropping back - doesn't step up in the pocket - if he does step up it's more like a run up instead of just taking a step he kind of pulls the ball down and half-runs up... not going to work - does go through progressions... it's basically one WR, if he isn't open then it's basically a busted play - very slow to react to changes in the secondary Problems with JJ that can't be corrected: - Huge windup in throwing mechanics... Jason Campbell and Aaron Brooks Like I said last week, to me there has been no improvement in him week to week and actual regression the last two weeks.
Correct!! But let's face it... LSU's offense looks like they're still in Spring Training. Last week at Georgia, the receivers were all over the place trying to correct their formation, the O-Line looked confused, JJ looked confused. This week: Same thing. Wide receivers occassionally ran poor routes or didn't come back to the ball or didn't catch the ball or missed assignments blocking. O-Line was porous in pass blocking and got no real push for run blocking. And, worst of all, JJ simply will not throw the ball!!! I cannot cannot cannot even remember the last time he has thrown the ball away to avoid a sack! Do you realize that prior to the last "hurry-up" drive, JJ had dropped back 5 straight times (over two possessions) and didn't even release the ball!! Throw the freaking ball, JJ! Either throw it to a well-covered receiver that might make a play on the ball, throw it to a wide-open reciever (and there were some), or throw the FREAKING ball away... sometimes that is a success on O. Dang!
I just read this on another board and just about lost it so I cannot take credit for it. "QB (Jordan Jefferson) looks like a doe in the headlights and makes decisions as fast as a 1960s computer."
The jury is still out on Jefferson. The evidence that's been presented thus far, though, does not look good for him. Hard to imagine he'll ever be in charge on the field. That in itself is maddening. All of his passing skills need to improve. But a running game would help him certainly. The biggest problem, however, is that Crowton and Miles are handcuffed in their play calling because JJ still doesn't know most of the playbook. CLM admitted this to Cara Capuano before the MSU game, and she reported it from the sideline. If JJ knows only a few different plays, then guess what. Only a few different plays can be called. Thus, defenses are going to dominate the LSU offense until something changes. :tigereye:
Thanks for calling me stupid. Real classy of you. Jefferson IS the problem with plays being called from the sideline if HE is uncomfortable with the situation but many many other QBs out there are comfortable with that type of arrangement and it does not affect them. All that matters is that the play is called. Once Jefferson gets the call from the sideline - whether called by the coaches from the sideline or by someone eating up play clock time to run the play into a huddle - his job is to execute the play. So far he has shown limited effectiveness to do so and last night - with only 3 people rushing - he repeatedly panicked the minute his 1st WR option was not opened and got sacked. If he is more comfortable with a pacifier and blanket, then I guess the coaches should accommodate that too?
I did not call you stupid, I said that I could not deal with stupidity just because someone post something that is stupid does not make that person stupid..HOWEVER if that person was to say that he is being called stupid for the word stupidity being used to describe his statement...well then I guess that person just removed all doubt. And its more then obvious that you have NEVER been a coach for any type of team. And no not every QB can play this game from the line of scrimmage it takes a VERY special kind of QB to do that. And not just the QB when the plays are coming from the sideline the WRs DONT EVEN RUN THE RIGHT ROUTES! Go back and watch all the games..IT MIGHT HELP YA to use a slow motion button. But EVERY single time we have had a drive or moved the ball down the field it has been with the offense coming out of the huddle. And 95% of the sacks have come when they are calling the plays from the sideline. And lastly with your last comment you have EARNED your place on the Assclown List!
