Guess I consider myself lucky. The wife won't allow me to buy a HDTV until LSU gets a QB who can spit and chew gum at the same time (her opinion). Saves me money now - ulcers come later. :geaux:
Lee had his bad games against the good competition we faced though. Georgia, Florida, Alabama. Jefferson is holding the ball far to long.. and Lee has a whip-like release, maybe he can get the ball off with a 3-step drop instead of Jeffersons lengthy dropback. Jefferson has overthrown quite a few basic screens over the course of the season. He throws them high and in areas that makes the receiver stop-then-go.
I agree he has some of the tools to be a good QB. BUT...as of right now hes not game ready. If Les is trying to build a QB for the next couple of years, why not the most dynamic.... Russell Shep. I dont mind grooming a young QB but at least groom the Qb that WILL BE LSUs future.
Yep. 21/31 for 246 is pretty good, but even better when you consider if his receivers do their job he would have been 27 for 31 for about 350. And he did it with aboslutely no running game to open up the pass.
The announcers mentioned that after the first qtr LSU and JJ started to play like the team of 2 weeks ago. Like they were tentative again. You would think after going ahead by 17 the opposite would have been the case. Success breeds confidence but we got sluggish and the QB acted like a deer in the headlights.
JJ was the star last night and this is His team now!! I think we will see a star step off the field in Bama!!! LSU wins and everyone talks about the play of our young QB!!! :tigereye:
