The last time I saw a QB accept the inevitability of a sack like JJ does on a nominal pass rush, his name was Richard Todd. Please...time to groom Shep.
You better watch it the... the Jefferson worshipers are going to come after you on this forum. IMHO it was Jefferson's team through this game.... even though I had serious doubts I felt like he had given enough to be the starter... now you re-evaluate after this game with the bye. My gut told me when I saw him last year it wasn't going to work... now I am about 80% positive it isn't going to work... he can win you 8-10 games a year with the talent he has on the field but he just doesn't have the ability to me... that huge wideup you can't coach out.
Hate to say it, but I have to agree. There's no excuse for that type of play. He refuses to throw the ball, he panics, and he can't see the field. At least with Jarret Lee, you know he's not scared to throw it. Dude's not progressing at all, and does not appear to be SEC-caliber. But let's be honest, the playcalling didn't help much. And it's clear that the whole calling the play in from the sideline crap does NOT work. It hasn't worked all year long. Why in the HELL would it work now? Jefferson obviously isn't the sharpest knife in the drawer. Why on earth would you give him more to think about?
Wow, none of these ppl blame the OLine at all! We gave up a sack on a 3 man rush by Florida, ppl! Get Real! Btw It wouldn't have hurt to put JL in the last two drives once the game was looking like a loss. It will be interesting to see where this team goes from here!
I don't know. Our offensive line has got to be the most underachieving unit in the country. Florida was rushing 3 guys and getting to JJ. The fact is, if we could run block, things would be MUCH easier for JJ, but we haven't really run against anybody. We ran at times last week, but other than that, really nothing. JJ's not yet good enough to win without a solid running game.
No kidding. I mean, things could not get any worse for us offensively. At least JLee's not afraid to air it out.
Thank You Sir, The only one on this forum with sense. O line is crap! and Miles thinks they are the best he has had. guess that makes him crap too.
When the quarterback is holding the ball for 6 and 7 seconds it isn't the o-line. At this point in the season I can say I am extremely disappointed with Jefferson's development, the way Shepard has(n't) been used, and the play calling. I am really disappointed in our Tigers right now.
I believe JJ can still get better. He's young. The same can't be said for the play calling. That was disgusting! And where was RS? He's maybe the second fastest but at the same time quickest player we have. The fastest is the fastest EVER to play college football. Why didn't he play when the opposing team has maybe the fastest defense in the country! This is inexcusable in my opinion. CLM will say in the press conference that he just couldn't find the right time to put him in. I've backed CLM but I just don't think he has the talent other head coaches have in managing players and games. And where was Dickson in game plan? RR had a couple of big catches last week and he was open on JJ last sack. I'm sickened and I don't see things change as long as whoever is calling the plays (Crowton or Miles...it seems oftentimes it's Miles with the list in his hands looking over the plays). We have ATOO MUCH TALENT to be as lackluster as we have been. Our defense did its job. I keep hearing the quote CLM had about this being the best offensive line he's coached. If he truly believes that then he certainly has no business being LSU head coach.
