I did find that caveat somewhat curious. Isn't a QB always throwing against the air? I guess you could make an argument that the air in Tiger Stadium early in the season more closely resembles water. . .
It doesn't really mean anything to the fans because, in scrimmages, the coaches set up scenarios to see what THEY want to measure--and most times those aren't realistic game situations. My dad, who was a coach, tried for years to explain to my mom why scrimmages were so freakin' boring to watch. It was because...they're not games. They're practices.
