wow. so they beg and beg for our donations and they use them for this? I think I am just sick and tired of just about every politician on the damned planet and their bull****.
No thanks. I'm doing fine trying to keep one of them under control. I would definitely revive the Huey Long tradition of leading the GBFTL on the field, though...
You're getting warmer... And for what it's worth I voted for the guy too. And I don't really have a problem with the job he's done so far.. But a politician is a politician.. it's what they do.
now the Chocolate Mayor gets into it. New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin headed to Super Bowl XLIV on taxpayers' dime | Louisiana Politics & Government - - Louisiana Politics | State Legislature News - NOLA.com
at least you are consistent. it should either be ok for both, or wrong for both. love him or hate him, nagin is the mayor of the city of new orleans, and it is the new orleans saints. it is no different for him to represent the city than it is jindal to represent the state.
Honestly, Nagin has a better claim than Jindal. Ijust think it is a sham that either one of them is claiming this a a needed job function of their office. They will not get 1 thing done business wise. This is a play trip, and I don't think we should be forced to pay for it.
No, they won't get anything done business-wise, but they are the faces of New Orleans and Louisiana, despite Nagin being rather embarrassing during and after Katrina. I don't pay Louisiana taxes anymore, but I don't see a problem with either of them going to support the Saints.
So a wealthy man who resides in Louisiana and holds office there is going to the Superbowl to watch the team from his state play there. All politicians do this, and I don't really care. I stopped allowing politicians to be my moral and ethics guide a long time ago. Yeah, it's not a great way to spend your campaign funds, but I'm not surprised Nagin and Jindal are going.
what's the difference b/w your boss or someone using business revenue to go to the game? that's how things work in a capitalistic society: people with the most money/power get to do things us regular folk can't.
