I actually always thought ott was pretty good until this year. he's just ripping on Miles, if he's not impressed and that's fine, but I don't see where he's fair with it. You can't tell me that miles hasn't done ONE good thing or made one good decision since he's been here. And then he says that Mich. is a top program and will be coming after him after this year, isn't that a little contradictory? It seems to me that he's just following his buddy Guilbeau's lead. That's all I'm saying.
Personally I listen to Ott because I enjoy the 2 hours of commercials and talking to sponsors in a 3 hour show. Beyond the fact that on my 20 minute drive home Ott's show averages about 15mins of commercials I don't really have a problem with the show. But if that doesn't do it for you here is a Pressbox Show drinking game. ** DO NOT PLAY WHILE DRIVING ** Jimmy points out that he always thought Saban was a bad person... take a shot Jimmy points out that LSU is an elite program and Miles is not a good enough coach... take a shot Jimmy asks a co-host for an opinion and then tells them they're wrong... take a shot MFP gives you a Astros minor league update OR Saint's practice squad update... take a shot Jimmy asks MFP how his mom/ family is and what they are having for dinner... take two shots Sewer Rat talks about something other than sports... take a shot Jimmy talks encourages Sewer Rat to talk about something other than sports... take two shots Jimmy and random caller talk about high school or high school football... take a shot Caller asks Jimmy about his kid... take a shot Caller asks Jimmy about Wrigley field causing Jimmy to fire one off in his pants about how great Wrigley is.... take two shots Condon and/or Jimmy reflect on growing up in NO... take a shot Condon goes on a completely non-sports related tangent... take a shot I'm sure I missed some good ones so feel free to append.
LOL Hilarious :hihi: :hihi: :hihi: :hihi: :hihi:
I can't name one great decision Miles has made that any other coach...heck, any other 12 year old wouldn't have made. 1. Start the Future #1 draft pick at QB. (Check) 2. Start 2 future 1st round draft picks at WR. (Check) 3. Run Justin Vincent and Hester against a brick wall at Auburn for 3 3/4 quarters out of a stacked I and lose 7-3. (Baaaaaaaa) Nope, a 12 year old wouldn't have done that one but Miles did.
WOW! It sounds like the show hasnt evolved much since 1998. Do they still do the lock of the week deal on friday afternoons?
Mile's choice wasn't a freshman Russell or a 5th year senior QB. His was Flynn or a guy who could throw the ball 75 yards from his knees.
You're right. LSU's greatest coach had to decide between a 5th year senior who struggled to complete a forward pass or the future #1 QB. I'm glad Miles got it right.
As I recall, Russell played that year and played well at times. He started the Florida game on the road in the Swamp. He started and was pulled when he helped get us down 14-0 correct? Then the 5th year senior came in and helped win the game correct? I never said Russell wasn't good and shouldn't have been starting. Just that Miles had an obvious choice. If you'd like to debate what I said then fine but what I said had nothing to do with Saban and his choice of QB's.
