I have no problem with objectivity, but with objectivity is balance, anything good associated with the program is either because of Saban or lucky asst. hiring, all negatives are pegged on Miles He says he didn't like Saban, but he didn't criticize him when he was here, I think he was scared of him. I was here under Saban, he built the program, recruited great, improved the facilities and set the program up for long term success, I've never said different. But game day, he had his share of faux pas, trying to run out the clock against ole miss in 2002, losing at home to em, then going on the road and whipping Bama. UAB, Iowa bowl game, etc. Fair is fair, he made mistakes here too, and Ott acts like he was errorless.
yeah, that was me, and that was my opinion, i really don't appreciate you saying i sounded like a jackass though
I didn't hear it, but at least you had the cajones to call in. It doesn't exactly take a huge set of stones to simply criticize someone else for speaking up, especially when you offer nothing to counter their argument. I don't think that I've ever heard Ott say one good thing about Miles. He tries his damnedest to sidestep giving him credit for anything. It truly is appalling at times. Half his frikkin' show is spent talking about how much better Saban did it. After hearing about this completely asinine remark, I have to ask myself: 'Will Jimmy be sporting Crimson on November 3rd?'
Everything is great at LSU right now isn't it? Two top 5 Finishes in 2005 & 2006, great recruiting classes. LSU currently ranked #2 in 2007 heading into a game with a Top 10 opponent at home at night, on National TV. Does it get much better? And you want to hear Jimmy Ott yapping about Jake Hester getting too many carries? I guess "Objectivity" means different things to people.
I wish I could get the tape on that show and let you hear yourself.I wasn't talking about you being objective,it's the way you represented your opinion.I don't agree with everything the guy says either but who do you want to do sports talk, josh enis?Guess what topped it all off is that you go on his show, sound like you did, then come on here bragging about it.Maybe I could have used different terminoligy to represent you,for that I apoligize.
I wasn't bragging, just trying to see if anyone else shared my opinion. Obviously I rubbed you the wrong way, that was not my intention. As I stated, I have no problem with objectivity, but I didn't think he was being objective. As for calling into his show, it's a caller driven show, I didn't personally attack him or call him names like jackass, I just strongly disagreed. I don't see where I was out of line
I listen to Jimmy Ott because he asked the same questions that 1/2 of the LSU fan base was thinking last Thursday night. 1. Why is Hester taking carries away from Williams and Murphy? 2. Why is Miles calling so many designed run plays for Flynn? Ott is the only place those topics can be discussed. It surely can't be discussed on here cause everyone will have a thrombone if you bring it up.
I'm not in BR right now, but I thought Ott had the best show hands down a few years back. I have heard Ott a few times since then and think he rips a little too hard on Miles, but obviously the guy isn't impressed. I think he and the national media have that in common, and Ott always seemed to bring a mix of a local and national point of view to the table. A lot of us feel better about Miles than Ott, but until Miles wins some hardware, he hasn't achieved what Saban did with a less established program. Still, I think Miles will prove Ott wrong, and it wouldn't be the first time Ott was wrong.
Josh Innes is the worst. Matt Kennedy is the most annoying human I have ever heard in my life. Buddy Songy is very good. Jimmy Ott is very good, but he has just been wrong lately and stubborn about it. Roscoe will set him straight. Don't worry.
