Jimmy Clausen joins the Irish...

    Espn says Jimmy Clausen to commit to Notre Dame... Perfect fit if you ask me... The guy will start as a freshman...

    Well...he SURE as hell didn't want to go to Tennessee--where it's widely considered that the first two Clausen's didn't quite fully live up to their hype...and there was almost certainly no way he would be playing here--even if LSU was on his radar (which I doubt he ever gave us much serious consideration in the first place)...

    His mother supposedly really liked Jimbo and that relationship definitely gave us a shot, but I never thought he'd end up coming here.

    ND got a couple of good QBs last year, they turned Mustain down after they got the verbals. I think Clausen could be better than any QB on the roster, but you never know with QBs. I wouldn't call him the starter by default.

    (Maybe this is just the former offensive lineman/linebacker in me...) Maybe its because theyre all quarterbacks ;) .

    I agree, the qb's from last year werent bad at all. Though, they turned down Mustain to show Clausen that he was their man next year.
