I'd like to think that LSU is much better place than Houston, the right guy would probably give up a half million for the challenge and know that if he was confident in his skills and actually made a difference the rest of that money would be there after a season or two.
Money is irrelevant. If you want him and it takes 5m you pay him. Its monopoly money. This was the horrible mindset that didnt want to pay Saban 1m back in the day. Luckily they did.

Yeah I know... The agents have to get their cut too. Furthermore, part of the reason why the real world is the way it is though is because of the ridiculous amounts of money being spent like its Monopoly money.
