Saban and Brown are good friends. Saban didn't want it leaked and eventually it did and that had more to do with him not taking the job than anything. The 2 week eulogy and Mac not wanting to step down didn't help matters, in fact 1 probably influenced the other.

That's a really good point. I don't know if what some are saying is true: that it is his "dream job" but even if it is, it didn't lure Miles in '07 did it? Only other x-factor that I could see is a Harbaugh-49ers type scenario playing out, where the relationship is just too toxic to survive.
If indeed there are issues between Jimbo and the admin at FSU, him leaving is a real possibility. If he and his wife are getting divorced, is she staying in Tallahassee? What if she is leaving town regardless? It is not that long of a shot he leaves FSU for LSU.
