What you said right there in that first sentence convinces me even more that Jimbo won't be LSU's next coach. He is a pragmatic guy. He didn't bolt because it would have been stupid. Remember if he really loved LSU he wouldn't have made basically a lateral move to FSU. He went there to be the OC. Sure there was all that coach in waiting talk but that wasn't guaranteed. When you compare the jobs and take off the LSU blinders for a second, who in their right mind would leave a great job where there isn't nearly as much pressure or competition to come to one with a ton of pressure and more competition, and then throw all the family stuff on top of it. Doesn't make sense to me.
So we follow the trend set by history? You still churn butter at your house? It only takes once. I sure as fuck wouldn't let some lame ass precedent deter the effort. Pay him. He will come.
If only it were that easy. Look at what Texas was willing to pay Saban, and we all thought he was money bags Saban and loyal to the dollar only. Money isn't everything and FSU will probably counter and at least come very close to anything Jimbo will get offered from LSU. Honestly, I think all we see out of this is Jimbo getting a nice pay raise from Florida State.
But FSU can pay him too. I mean, Les used the Arkansas job a few years back to get a raise. Could it happen?? Anything could happen. Do I think it's likely?? No. Not remotely. LSU will try. I don't think it will work...
If we gonna fire Miles ( i agree) we need to get a proven head coach. We dont need and up and comer, otherwise we might as well keep Miles
This is a good point. Texas has practically unlimited money and probably the most attractive job in the country and they couldn't get Saban.
