Y'all are cracking me up with this Jon Gruden talk. Why even bring his name up. You may as well say you would like Vince Lombardi to coach us. He's gone from coaching, probably for good. And even if he wasn't, he's not coming back to LSU. I know CS was joking but people keep mentioning him as a long shot. He's a no shot.

A guy leaves an elite school with a national title in the past 2 years for another elite school. Name one...
Gruden's name comes up with every one of these...To me, he's got the best job in the world. Gets paid a ton of dough every week to travel the country and do one game a week.
I just think some of our fans think LSU is the be all end all and any coach would come running if called. Look at Texas, that proves you can't just get anyone, wipe their asses with 100's, can offer unlimited resources, and they have their own fucking network and are located in the greatest town in America, and they had to settle. I love LSU, I think it's the best job in the country but I'm biased as fuck. And I don't see too many coaches that already have good gigs wanting to come to place that dumps the guy who has never had a losing season and has top 5 recruiting classes every year. Who wants that type of pressure. If Jimbo didn't win the SEC in 3 seasons LSU fans would already be calling for his head.
Urban retired probably due to personal reasons and came back what, 2 years later?? I fail to see how these situations are the same.
You don't have to look any farther than LSU. Miles wasn't #1 on LSUs list when he was hired. I hope Alleva isn't pissing in the wind going after all these coaches that already have good Jobs and let the cream of the crop up and comers get scooped up by much smarter ADs, leaving LSU scrambling to look through the trash and find a leftover.
