according to that article we shouldn't hire Jimbo because he's lost 6 games as the favorite since 2010. Saban has lost 7 as a favorite since 2012. does that mean he wouldn't be an upgrade? '12 - lost to A&M '13 - lost to Auburn and OU '14 - lost to Ole Piss and OSU '15 - lost to Ole Piss
I didn't really know so I thought I would look up the stats. If you go by defensive rankings, he's been pretty damn good. Year - Team - Total Defense/Scoring Defense 2015 - Auburn - 83/71 2014 - Florida - 4/24 2013 - Florida - 5/15 2012 - Florida - 6/5 2011 - Florida - 9/20 2010 - Texas - 5/49 2009 - Texas - 5/12 2008 - Texas - 48/20 2007 - Auburn - 6/6 2006 - Auburn - 23/7 2004 - LSU - 3/10 I'm not necessarily supporting him... just throwing this out there. I was actually surprised when I looked up the stats.
Yeah we're familiar with Muschamp due to his time here, and most felt he was carrying out Sabans strategy. He built his reputation at Texas, though, where he was Saban-less. Must've learned something. Is the cost for him worth it vs say promoting O?
I don't know. I hate to say it but I'm not as big a fan of O as most here are. I saw him at Ole Miss where he was in completely over his head... yeah, that was as a head coach and was a long time ago. Maybe he has learned a lot since then, maybe. I also know that he was at USC with Pete and Kiffin when they weren't exactly running a model program. Then followed Kiffin around while he screwed over UT and ran back to USC. In the end, I don't know if Muschamp is worth the cost but I also don't get a warm fuzzy feeling when I think about Coach O.
I may be greedy but would love to have both Muschamp and O on the same staff. Hell, just to watch those 2 screaming on the sidelines is a huge plus in my book.
