If we were to hire Mullen, I would be sick to no end. Again, a guy like Herman might be terrific. No one knows yet one way or the other about him. I think we know about Mullen, though. I guess I would be okay with Jimbo, though it seems Shane is quite opposed.
I read Tulane may be interested in rob Ryan, lol. Frank would be a great fit there. I hope we keep him but eventually he's moving on.
I agree with you 100 percent. You don't fork over 15 mil and get rid of your national championship winning coach to go out and hire a guy like Herman. Maybe if LSU was in the tank and had no one returning and they couldn't get what they wanted they would settle. I'm with you Stacey.
Tulane would be a bad move for him. It's a graveyard for coaches. Wilson should do like Jimbo did and turn down lesser jobs until the right opportunity comes along
Do you? His record at Moo U playing in the SEC West is better than Saban's record at Mich St, a weaker conference.
And Miles record is great, too, but his offense, and game day skills, don't meet the eye test, thus we are looking to get rid of him. Point being, record and stats don't tell full story. Saban was a clear up and coming coach for several years before we nabbed him. Herman may be that good, but a premier program like LSU need someone more proven. I seem to recall people creaming over Mullen during his 1st year at MooSt, - "the next up and coming coach" - now, not so much, people have soured on him. Herman is hot right now, but that needs to be sustained, IMO.
I was making a point, I can't stand Mullen. But everyone keeps screaming about how we need a proven coach when the two most successful in LSU history were both very unproven. Mullen is far more proven and successful than Herman. Would you really take Mullen over him?
Mullen has won at Miss St on a consistent basis. Miss St is incredibly hard to win at especially in the conference and the division they are in.
This article doesn't see Jimbo as an upgrade. Makes some decent points about Jimbo choking as the favorite. http://thebiglead.com/2015/11/24/jimbo-fisher-les-miles-lsu/
